Lots of people want to be with their community in a variety of media. It's not a big deal that the player asked this question.

I wish to some day marry my one true love but I cannot because of where I live. So, I want to escape the public backlash by maybe marrying my love in a game that I also love. You see, it is as much as an escape from reality for you to watch nearly naked women in most games as it is for me to enjoy spending time with my loved one through marriage online.

Look I'm sorry life isn't going well for you. But this is a video game. Its not the Grant A Wish foundation. You need to seriously consider seeing a therapist if playing a video game just so you can marry your loved one is a way for you to escape reality. And you assume that I watching nearly naked women in most games is a favorite pastime of mine or something. Please, grow up. I play video games to have fun, not to make wishes or hope that some virtual setting will be my reality one day.

So.. a gay dude plays a female and marries his virtual boyfriend who plays male... that's just WRONG!

Well, actually... depending on the number of girls I want to see - we are pretty heavily descriminated against. Also, descrimination goes for certain girls regardless of feelings based on race and religion of the people around them. So I mean, if I am a 24 year old guy, and some 19 year old college freshmans parents decide they don't want her dating a 24 year old guy... We face hardcore descrimination because of our feelings for that person. Hell, if I am a white guy and I want to date a Black girl... move the @^&;% out the way because there is a massive shit storm coming.

We do face descrimination, and we don't have the "don't ask, don't tell" policy that gay people generally have. Admit it, if you (being a gay person in this case) and your gay lover decide to get together, people don't look at what your race or age is generally before they look at the "gay people". Since everything we do is "commonly accepted", we have to follow strict guidelines and work around the obstacles and persevere.

I'm not saying you guys/girls have it easy, because you don't. To be honest, I can't even pretend to understand what you go through because the thought of two men having sex absolutely sickens me. However, I can relate - managing a relationship, straight or gay isn't easy so don't try and act like one party has it harder than the other.

In the context of "in game" relationships, even if it isn't in the game - just do what everyone else does, invite your friends and have your guild leader wed you "unofficially" that's just as much fantasy as it being an actual in game mechanic. That's how we did it back in EQ anyways. Just find a rare ring and pop that shit.

 Part of MMORPG is RPG... some games may or may not contain certain aspects and depths to how the player is allowed and to what depth they can play their roles.  Obviously some games have more role playing depth than others.  I'd say Marriage is just one of many aspects by which any company can determine the type of roles that are allowable.  I would be inclined to say that the more options for role playing is available the more immersive the world can be.

 Well I for sure don't mind seeing something in chat like "LF gay gamers, guild, or etc... I'd understand how any individual gamer would feel more comfortable playing with... well I guess what they consider their own "tribe" if you will.  While you make a good point, I'd have a feeling most guilds might black list you by saying "... not full of asshats."  Might lead them to think you're just a joker/asshat yourself.  But who knows in the end.  Hell if I didn't get heckled for it, I'd put "LF other Battlestar Galatica fans" to play with... but I'm sure I'd probably get blacklisted for being a complete geek. XD

What rights dont homosexuals have ? Last time I checked nearly every state has civil unions, which provide the same legal rights as marriage.  Homosexuals dont want the same rights as everyone else they want everyone to justify their deviant behavior by calling it " Marriage". 

Marriage has long been a religious union of a woman and a man in a physiologically productive relationship.  Since it was founded as a religious ceremony and most religions believe that marriage should be between a man and a women, I would expect that most states will create a constituional ammendment to  their state constitution banning homosexual marriage, much the same way that California did. 

Almost all states in which the voters were asked to express their belief in whether a state constituitional ban was needed to protect the sanctity of marriage,  have reponded with a strong YES to marriage being between a man and  women.

Its a fallacy to say that homosexuals want the same rights as heterosexuals, they allready do.  What they truly want is for every religion, every facet of life to accept their deviant behavior as a norm, much the same way that pedophiles, and bestiality advocates want their deviant behavior to become an accepted "Norm" as well.
