Good news, everyone: The end of the learning skills

ALL LEARNING SKILLS WILL DISAPPEAR

Seems like what I predicted will become true: This expansion will be interesting not for the main features, but for the small stuff.

Now where to spend the accumulated sp..

Where is this information posted? I would love to see this.

If this is true... shit, I've got millions of SP in learning skills.

That's a weird statement. Learning skills were a mistake from the start and a liability. They were directly harmful to retention and an oftenly cited drag in the first months of a player.

The removal of learnings is a welcome step forward and a badly needed one. Just because they're trying to reduce unnecessary clutter from the first months of gameplay to retain more people doesn't make it a bad change. I'd be worried if they did those changes without a commercial interest..

Arrogance or playful fun? I guess it depends on how you see it. But I consider it to be them just having a good laugh , trying not to make a blog completely boring.

Making jokes of non-English speaking customers you consider 'playful fun'?

    You got odd taste...

Guess I got odd taste too then.

(Having my english called "proper" helps, obviously.)

I understand why they did it, can't complain at alll since I'm not currently a paying customer, but not really sure I like it much. (in the way that people don't like it when initiation rights that they endured are reduced to make it easier to get new members in any orgainization)

I do know that there are many players who have quit (or not gone past the trial) because of learning skills so getting rid of them makes solid financial sense and doesn't really hurt anyone who enjoy the game that I can see so its a good change overall.

Boasting about yourself in a way that actually shows your own weakness or error is fine but that isn't the case.

The 'fortnight' is still 'Proper English' and as such, they are only self-boasting that they know the word you don't...

Might be funny but I still find it arrogant and lacking taste, especially considering their position and context.

    So let me get this

We get refunded the SP in Skill points and get that back

PLUS we get 12 Attribute points?

Well then i will jsut be sticking those points equally into my skills to maintain my old learning bonus

then whacking those SP on my skills towards finally flying a Carrier

  • pmaurapmaura Member UncommonPosts: 530

    I didn't know what a fortnight was...most english-speaking people don't...thus, the joke.  It's not arrogance, it's funny.

Shame I just spent all that cash on Logic I.  Oh well.

IDK if you are joking or is true however if it is true it is a smart move imo.Reason is it was not realistic and you didn't actually have to do anything other than put a check mark in a box, quite a lazy design approach if i may so.I am interested to see what they have planned instead,no matter what it is ,from my standpoint  a guaranteed improvement.

this is fair only for ppl that trained learning from day one

is good but still not fair

they were silly; a new player had to sit thru a few weeks of training them and not notice any tangible boost in being ale to fly anything.

I'm glad they're gone and looking forward to my around 2m bonus skill points :)

I got flamed alot for my views on some asspects of this game and several will know what im referring too. Seems like slowly but surley things are happening to level the playing feild and this will not be liked by the long term folks. Item shops and either an on off pvp switch or new server. Any bets

I would assume that everyone gets a free re-map along with those several million now re-usable skill points.

    Personally, I like the idea

     How is it unfair?..

Those that trained them get to spend the points invested in other stuff.

And those that trained fun skills instead are given the stats so they can now train even faster.

First off who the heck uses "fortnight" nowadays? And also who the heck considers saying "two weeks ago" not proper english? Seriously get over it.

ppl dont train learning skill from day one because dont have money, my main dint train from day one but my alts did.

you spend 2/3 months training stuff whit learnings at lvl 3 that means your rate for training other skills is slower that if you have +12 to all stats from day one, there are ppl that never maxed learning skill and they play EvE for years this ppl dont get the +12 so they learned all skills at a slower rate

now you get why is not fair ?
