Its a touchstone, not a CloneStamp. These games have some similarities, but they are not even remotely the same.
Now come on...
I get your a rabid supporter of the title, but really...
Remotely?
He's not a rabid supporter of the game, he I'm sure just like many here (myself included) are just sick to death of this endless debate. Especially with those taking quotes out of context to better support their agenda.

10 minutes in the tutorial area is not going to tell you anything about a game, and is not enough to warrent writing a longish review with any accuracy. I don't know of a single game in existence that can capture someone's attention with their tutorial area.
QFT. Writing a review over 10 minutes of gameplay? Seems pointless to me.

What quotes were taken out of context?
As someone who claims the game is closer to a Cryptic title than a Blizzard one, you should know exactly what quotes I'm talking about.

Thats a personal opinion, what has that got to do with 'quotes out of context'??
sounds like the guy was just pissed he has to wait in line to play. They specifically told you what you could do on the demo and your tried to do otherwise. If he did his research or followed anything on the game he would of know it was a classic style mmo, no big suprise there.
I have no patience for ignorance
Or maybe he got upset because the staff at the SWTOR booth tried to tell him what he can and can not do while demoing the game just like the themepark games hold your hand... The irony...

Seems like your scrabbling to me.
I'd get a warning if I said what i thought you were doing, so I'll just bow out now. I can't explain my point the way I want to so what's the point?
I posted a news item about a game available to the general public in a discussion forum about that game so that folks can discuss it...

I have no idea what you think I 'am doing'.
Hinting at the thought would get me a warning to, what I said has nothing to do with your OP, just this little exchange here.
Edit- JUst to point out something in regard to your OP. There are also people who have spent 10-20 mins in GW2 who come away saying it's "more of the same" does that make it true? Of course not, 10-20 mins doesn't tell you crap about an MMO, nor does some developer controlled presentation at an event.

I hope this game turns out better than some of the MMOs that have launched in the past 2 years that I unfortunately spent money on such as Star Trek Online and DC Universe Online. RIFT is great though. I love Star Wars and BioWare games but I am a little leery of buying this and having it flop. Oh well, here we go!!!!!!! Everybody in the deep end!
"Given how much money is being thrown at Star Wars: The Old Republic, I was genuinely surprised that BioWare had stuck with the WoW gameplay model down to the last detail, even when it didn't work very well or suit the setting. If all you're looking for is a new Star Wars-themed MMO with familiar gameplay, then SWTOR is sure to be a big hit with you. I personally left the demo at Eurogamer Expo distinctly underwhelmed and a little bit disappointed."
A Star Wars 'WoW' with on-rails for space combat was a poor choice by Bioware.

Man, when I tried this game not to long ago, I came away with the exact opposite impresion. To each his own I guess. I think a major problem people have with this game is they can't match their expecationz with the real game.
because they are ussly in horrible shape on release and they dont get better
Because people don't support it, maybe it's time some started cutting their losses, and played games that actually tried to cater to them, rather than beat those games to the ground?

No but my biggest fear, as a hardcore Star Wars fan, of what TOR is seem to be happening.

Well that's understandable, my point is, maybe you'd have a better impression with time spent in the game? On the flip-side maybe you'd have an even worse impression, but at least it would be your own.

Glancing at it you could say they are very much a like but when you take the time to look at it, they are very different games.
If you can, state the reasons that make it a WoW clone without mentioning the graphics style or the combat.

There have been plenty. And they've all flopped. Wonder why that is?
