First, her name is Sandi Gardiner. She was promoted to VP of Marketing (has nothing to do with technical/development aspects). She's recognized as a co-founder and even mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records. As a marketer, I think she got her job done with helping promote the biggest crowdfunding project (game at least) ever. So, please, provide your sources that she didn't deserve her position.
OK, I wasn't going to do this in a forum, since it's going in my next blog, but let's go....
Sandi Gardiner is Sandra Roberts. You can deny this all you want, and it won't change that.
The kids in the early KS videos, are their kids.
At the time that my 2nd blog went up, in which I questioned her experience, qualifications, etc, her original LinkedIn profile (which we have screen capped), contained entries for her degrees at UCLA.
Here is a Reddit thread in which people were quoting from that old profile. Search for: UCLA
When my 3rd blog went up, I again talked about the nepotism etc. I also mentioned why it is that, after spending over $200 in requests, UCLA had no records of her, or any version of her maiden and married names.
She then created a new profile. In fact, this was done over this past weekend, and we caught it when people she was linked to, received LinkedIn notifications, alerting us to it. Several people notified us.
In this new profile, no mention of UCLA. Instead, a new Australian college which our researchers there, are currently looking into.
And here is a lengthy podcast interview (@ 18:45) she did, in which she was claiming a UCLA degree. She claims she got a degree in Marine Biology while in Australia, and then later got a degree in International Marketing from UCLA.
In a meet the dev video, she tells of how she first started working on Star Citizen and never mentions them being married or her having been Chris' intern at Ascendant Pictures
And this all came about because I questioned the nepotism, her role in marketing, someone who has gone on the record as saying that she has no clue what the "VP of marketing" position entails etc. And no, she's not responsible for the marketing success of the game. That credit goes to the marketing professionals working there, under her - despite being more qualified, experienced etc. The same way that Ben Lesnick, unknown to most, reportedly writes the chairman updates, not Chris.
I am aware of several investigative media pieces currently in progress, and which are going to ask a lot more questions, confirm a lot more things, ask more questions, than I've done in my blogs. And nothing you, or anyone does, will stop, or change the outcome of what comes next. It is inevitable.
Your move.
ps: As I stated - in the public record - in my Gaming Urban Legend blog, I have, not one, but two Ph.Ds. I declared this because I know that if/when this crap hits the fan, either from a lawsuit, FTC investigation etc, that's the first thing they were going to attack. So this saves everyone time.

yes. yes indeed. which is why I tend not to engage in these pointless discussions. Instead, I just respond to whatever tickles my fancy, and which is worthy of the time spent.
You only answer to what fits your plan best. Switching between alt accounts and several forums takes up a lot of time eh?
Blessed be the posts worthy of your attention.
He won't answer any legit questions since that'll expose his agenda.
He called out the Star Citizen project as being 'vaporware', as if it's a fact. Then, he says he has sources on various things. He's making defamatory level claims against Chris Roberts.
If anything were to go to court. 1) I bet he'd try to drag people from here. Won't bother me. I have no association whatsoever wit Chris Roberts; and I only have one MMORPG.com account. In fact, I don't even know why there's CIG and RSI, and what each of those means to the SC development since I'm not even a backer. 2) His own comments are defamatory since he's asserting them as fact then saying he has sources (asserting them as being facts; said he has sources; etc).
The MMORPG.com podcast even shows defamatory comments like saying that only visual art/graphic engine programmers were hired when he referenced networking (which is FACTUALLY wrong). He's taking a position of authority on this; which is a far cry from people posting on forums with their opinions.
He doesn't even get Sandi Gardiner's name right. He originally promoted the idea that Erin Roberts wasn't qualified to be Executive Producer (which he is). His level of credibility on anything SC related at this point is, IMHO, nill.
His claims of nepotism (and, if I'm not mistaken, he said he has a source for this) can be labeled defamatory at this point too. Again, he can't even get her name right.

You're one sad little person.
Typical and expected response.
No, it speaks to the credibility (and nepotism questions) of execs at an $85m crowd-funded company, that thus far has failed to deliver on promises. In other industries, people have been fired for similar, or less; entire companies thrown in chaos etc.
And these are the sort of questions that people who invest in a product, should know about. Instead, you folks are trying to deflect attention away from the fact that this is looking a lot like a catastrophic loss of backer money, and making it about the messenger.
Game developers are just human beings who happen to make games for a living. If you want to hold us up to higher standards of conduct, then go ahead ...but don't be surprised if we don't uphold them.
I am just very glad to not have a horse in this race. If the game comes out and is awesome, I will throw a ton of money at it. But at this point, I can say I am pretty glad not to have put much into it. I will gladly fly around in a crappy little ship that is the only thing us non-backing peasants can access if the game is that good...or launches at all.

Derek, now that you are no longer officially a backer of the project (since they refund and banner your account), how that does leave you with the ability to ask about CIGs and CR reponsibilities?
Do you plan to lend your help to those backers on your list that joined you or you making someone else appointed for the FTC court case?
By the way, I agree with you that the people here are focusing too much on your persona and not on what you are actually saying, which to me is spot on!

Everyone, let's reveal a little more about Sandi Gardiner:
Co-founder of the Star Citizen project. Management school. Producer on tv series. Yeah, I think she has a few credentials that lends to the idea of her being VP of Marketing; which is actually a management/leadership role.
Bet you didn't want people to see her IMDB profile did you?

She said she 'applied to UCLA'. Nothing about a degree.
This kind of shatters your entire argument...

Listen to yourself. Their marketing success was done 'under her' as the leadership. Successful marketing campaign while she was the VP of Marketing... do you have any idea what a VP of Marketing is? She has a history of management, education in management.
What about Erin Roberts, btw? Which it was clear that you were saying wasn't qualified to be Executive Producer.

Did i miss something here?
When did we backers appoint you as our representative, our voice, our white knight ? In case we did then i'll apologize but i'm sure that no such thing happened.
Now, according to your info you had your pledge refunded. Why don't you invest your precious time in the game you're making which, according to the vast majority of reviews, is in an extremely poor state and leave us backers worry about our money and SC's development status.

From my perspective, this has nothing to do with white knighting for backers and everything to do with taking Chris Roberts out as the leader of the Star Citizen project; or at least trying to get something going that causes the SC project to fail.

Sensible thing you could do as of now, not that it was looking any better before this mess.

Did you actually read her IMDB profile before linking it? I'm still laughing because I have it side by side with my friend who moved to California to pursue her dreams and started out on a dating show. Here I'll link it for you: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1983862/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 Notice my friend has over 100 entries to Sandi's roughly 15 if you don't take into account Around the Verse (why would you? lol).
On her LinkedIn profile she claimed to have a degree from UCLA - not that she applied there. Did you read DSmart's post before responding? Also, in his blog entries he clearly states that he thinks Erin Roberts is perfectly capable. Perhaps there's another occasion where he said otherwise, but I have never seen it.
Sandi doesn't even know what a VP of Marketing is "As VP of Marketing (although I’m not sure about the title VP as it stands for Vice-President and there isn’t anyone above me in the Marketing Department) in effect, what I do entails more than just marketing. I currently manage customer service, concierge, merchandising and fulfillment and host on-camera interviews for SC as well. Let’s just say I’m busy!" but you think she deserves credit for their entire marketing campaign? You basically say because she had her 'title' she deserves the credit for work that appears like it was done by others. You know like maybe those who actually have experience in the marketing field?
No offense, DSmart is usually easy to tear apart, but you should put in more effort next time and maybe think with logic instead of emotion as you type your response.

Of course he read it. How else did you expect him to respond? There is a reason that most have blocked him. I just blocked him as well because I don't have time to reach nonsense that has no basis in reality.
We have so much factual research material, it's not even funny. These White Knights can make as much noise as they want, it changes nothing.
And yes, all my blogs, I have clearly stated that Erin is notable dev. My concern about him being an XP is that 1) he doesn't have the experience for such a project of this scope 2) now he's going to be stretched thin, when in fact he was only focused on SQ42 3) it's a way have a family member not disclose serious problems with the project; something that an outsider (e.g. the departed Alex) would do immediately

That's why they kicked me out as a backer; but it changes nothing. In fact, they just made it worse because it clearly shows that they have something to hide, and a lot of people have already picked up on that. The damage is already done.
The only way that I can help backers, is to point them to the FTC site where they can report the project.
There isn't a doubt in my mind that I will be vindicated. When that happens, we'll see how they spin that. I simply don't care about those who bought into the "dream". I care about the original KS backers who poured $2.1m in a project that has blown out of scope, and now stands less chance of being completed as originally promised. And it's that very premise - not all this noise - that's going to lead to the catastrophic collapse of this project once things start falling apart.
Anyone who continues to put money into this vaporware project, is a fool who deserves to be parted with his/her money.
Game developers are just human beings who happen to make games for a living. If you want to hold us up to higher standards of conduct, then go ahead ...but don't be surprised if we don't uphold them.

Tell us Derek, why do you or anyone else get to claim anything you have claimed without first seeing the companies books? Not only that, but right right, even as a backer, do you think you have to see their accounts?
They promised you a product, it is not even at their ESTIMATED release date yet, let alone a stated confirmed release date. So tell us, what right do you have to drag almost a million backers into you and Chris's age old pissing match?
Maybe I could understand this stance if it was 2017 or something and they were far past their stated release date with no progress shown. But they have shown progress, and given weekly updates and showed off expanded studios to keep up development based on desired scale.
So seriously Derek, wtf, there is literally no reason for you to be so pissy about Star Citizen other than your obvious rivalry with Roberts. Get over yourself man, you have just messed with a lot of peoples fun and you just dont have the games to make anyone respect or like your opinions.
Go crawl back in your cave and wait until it blows its release date before you start calling foul. Also where does a failed developer get $1m to even pull this shit off? I think we need to see your financial statements proving this money is not a backed takeover scheme..... baseless accusations feel great dont they.

And it's that very premise - not all this noise - that's going to lead to the catastrophic collapse of this project once things start falling apart.
Anyone who continues to put money into this vaporware project, is a fool who deserves to be parted with his/her money.
So tell me again what makes you any better? Again, you are charging for a game that is in as bad or worse shape than the one you're criticising.
Did you actually read her IMDB profile before linking it? I'm still laughing because I have it side by side with my friend who moved to California to pursue her dreams and started out on a dating show. Here I'll link it for you: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1983862/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 Notice my friend has over 100 entries to Sandi's roughly 15 if you don't take into account Around the Verse (why would you? lol).
Posting that illustrates a few things to give people a background of who she is. She's not just some wife that happened to get the VP of Marketing role. Just because you found someone with more credentials listed on IMDB doesn't mean that her VP of Marketing role wasn't warranted.
On her LinkedIn profile she claimed to have a degree from UCLA - not that she applied there. Did you read DSmart's post before responding?
I'm trying to find any other mention of it besides that reddit post that Derek Smart linked. Plus, what about him linking to a podcast where she stated she 'applied to UCLA', which was presented as evidence that she said she graduated.
Also, in his blog entries he clearly states that he thinks Erin Roberts is perfectly capable. Perhaps there's another occasion where he said otherwise, but I have never seen it.
"address the nepotism issues associated with the hiring of unqualified family members to head key parts of this crowd-funded project. In this regard, explain the benefits of a) promoting your brother to an Executive Producer position, as opposed to hiring someone (like the departed Alex Mayberry) who has the experience to match the job. Also what new benefits (pay raise, shares etc) he now has access to, for going into that position b) hiring someone, allegedly your wife, to a position that she is seemingly not qualified to hold. And why a more experienced executive wasn’t put in this position. Especially since that dept has people, with more experience and qualifications to do the job. Instead, they get to answer to her; and naturally, she gets paid more, as per the position."
He seems to imply here that Alex Mayberry has the qualifications and experience over Erin Roberts. He says nepotism and 'unqualified family member(S)', then lists two. Therefore, by following what he said in his demand he labeled Erin Rorberts unqualified.
I'm sorry, but what part of this shows she isn't qualified for the position she was placed in?
The only argument against her being VP of Marketing is that she's Chris Robert's wife; and there's some sources (claimed by Derek Smart) that she wasn't qualified.
I'm No offense, DSmart is usually easy to tear apart, but you should put in more effort next time and maybe think with logic instead of emotion as you type your response.
What about the MMORPG.com podcast where he states that visual art/graphic engine programmers were being hired and not networking programmers when that was flat out wrong?
Or, mentions how Crytek is a template for FPS, but then fails to mention that people that have a lot of experience with Crytek were hired to work with the engine in the same podcast?
So this is the new level of arguments regarding the progress of a pc game...
Anyone who continues to put money into this vaporware project, is a fool who deserves to be parted with his/her money.
I'm no expert but here is a prediction: if you're trying to pull on SC the same stunt you did with Alganon there is no way in hell you will succeed. Different times, different game.
That's why they kicked me out as a backer; but it changes nothing. In fact, they just made it worse because it clearly shows that they have something to hide, and a lot of people have already picked up on that.
Give us the data showing that "a lot of people have picked up".. Numbers please.
I simply don't care about those who bought into the "dream". I care about the original KS backers who poured $2.1m in a project that has blown out of scope
Here is what you can't or won't grasp: we, original KS backers believe firmly that CR will deliver a top notch game. We don't need a white knight and most certainly we did not appoint you as our representative. We where aware that as the funding raised the game would grow in features. It's something we wanted and helped towards this direction.
Here it is, folks. He throws out what he thinks is facts then walks away thinking he won or something.
His one smoking gun being Sandi Gardiner (or so he thought), ended up having holes in it. From the podcast he posted to the fact if you do Google searches you'll only find that reddit post he posted. And, from the quoting style and the writing style, that has Derek Smart written all over it. LOL.

A fool and his money...
And that goes for both those who buy pictures of spaceships, and Chris Roberts himself.
OK, I wasn't going to do this in a forum, since it's going in my next blog, but let's go....

So...
Oh look how buddy-buddy you are with this SmartySmart user. Does it not bothers you that he has only 15 posts? Interesting.
Heh Derek
Maybe you should be offering your customers refunds for Line of Defense.
It seems your priorities lie elsewhere.

Smart's posts yes, your posts not so much.

Everyone, let's reveal a little more about Sandi Gardiner:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1667407/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1
"Is in the Guinness Book of Records 2015 for co-creating the most successful crowd funded project ever."
Here education:
Have you even listened to the podcast?
She said she 'applied to UCLA'. Nothing about a degree.
This kind of shatters your entire argument...
Listen to yourself. Their marketing success was done 'under her' as the leadership. Successful marketing campaign while she was the VP of Marketing... do you have any idea what a VP of Marketing is? She has a history of management, education in management.
What about Erin Roberts, btw? Which it was clear that you were saying wasn't qualified to be Executive Producer.
Based upon everything I've seen you say I think it's reasonable to conclude that you're making stuff up at this point.
Off-Topic
Oh and that person who keeps trying to reply to my post, you are on ignore. Trust me i'm not one of these people who can't resist a look, as i said you got boring.

So tell me again what makes you any better? Again, you are charging for a game that is in as bad or worse shape than the one you're criticising.
