well when ones ego investment is so high its a natural response to just call all the news coming out basically 'lies' and to feel confident in that without any real reason to think as such.
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

There is also a term called "Blind Faith"

ha!
the opposite of blind faith is knowedge and facts..
not randomly made up obscurities based on nothing.
kind of like 'Lukcy is liying' why? 'reasons...'

That's more of an example of butchering the English language than anything else.

Game poster: 'I think Lucky is lying'
Sean_mcad: 'oh really? why do you think that'?
Game poster: 'blind faith because I have no idea whatsoever and have nothing to even remotely back it up'
Sean_mcad: 'oh I see, well would you like to hear my reasons why I think he is not lying'
Game poster: 'not really because I will just say you dont have any facts which is why I am more comfortable with my position that is completely baseless'
its like talking to someone with blind faith in god and in the believe that VR (or at least Oculus) will fail

"Broken Record"
'why do you think he is lying?' no reason, I dont need no stinkin reasons I just have blind faith that I am right even though evidence suggests the opposite.
its kinda funny

Shit happens
reasoning? there isnt any reasoning to the assumption that Lucky is either liying or that its 'clearly' a supply problem and not what Lucky says it is which is 'unexpected demand' I mean that statement is crazy talk right?

It's called "Marketing Speak"
edit: And admitting that you're having a production problem "could" be disastrous.

ah yeah...that meme.
yeah because every single sell out ever in history is always 'more than expected' is actually not so because every sell out ever is just a marketing scam.
well Vive sold out 15,000 in 10 mins, they published that number. you think Oculus is only about what? 200 that they 'expected'?

Lol... Its part of Marketing period.
edit: Here in Vancouver, Paul Mccartney sold out 30,000 tickets in about 1 1/2 minutes. What's your point?
There is always a mad dash for something new.
We'll have to wait and see if they can sustain sales.
is it always a marketing thing when a company says it sells out OR is there something specific you can point to that makes this marketing and other examples not?
also...if Vive sold out 15,000 in 10 mins how many do you think Oculus sold out as an educated guess?
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

None of this matters. It's sustained sales that will matter.

yes I know that debate an angle is coming later and so will the 'console wars of VR' will come but for now we are still stuck on this one thing. dont get ahead of yourself.

does that sound about right?

Whether they made 10 or 100000, they clearly have supply issues. I know how is sucks have delays when your excited about getting a new toy. At least they are taking the high ground and providing free shipping. I know there will be a contingency which screams for 'they should be free' crowd, but it isn't realistic, so those can be ignored.
The key is whether or not they fix their supply problem for future sales.

its funny how as soon as I mentioned that HTC sold 15,000 in 10 mins its now longer an issue of how many where sold....
this is a circle jerk exercise.
but what I can tell over the course of a few months is that I am making progress and the debate changes exactly as I predicted it would

You are the Nostradamus of your generation.
lol...
yeah here is my prediction
that Oculus sold more than the expected.
...? what? yup. that is my entire prediction and its based on what Oculus said. radical I know, I know the more reasonable position to take is something that Oculus did not say because clearly that makes more sense...no wait...it actually dosent make more sense

15,000 HTC in 10 mins, is that every 10 mins or is that a one time deal?

And this is the perfect example of why you never preorder first generation hardware. More than likely they will improve and release a better version in about a year, and by then there will be a lot more things you can actually use it with. I know these have been in beta for a long while but still will never buy a first generation anything when it first launches. I can hold onto my money for at least a year and get the same if not better experience then.
