The belief that the world was flat, the center of the cosmos, and the sun revolving around the earth, was never a Christian concept, but rather the Ptolemaic model adopted by the Church until the 16th century. Your ignorance is shining.
what a wanker you just proved my point by trying to rebut it
the church takes a stand point formed by some guy that talks to god. then does every thing it can to keep that standpoint no matter what science says hence holding man back
You really are intent as coming off as ignorant, aren't you?
Ptolemy was a hellenized egyptian, hardly a man who "talks to God". But oh my, the Church taking a scientific standpoint alongside a "heathen", who woulda thunk it?!
religion is a evil, nasty, self serving, vile way of life and the sooner mankind can dump it into the abiss of history the better
The sooner you can spell simple words like, "abyss", the better.

welcome to the abiss that is the interweb
Question to all of you here, Do you know how many times the Bible has changed? Do you know that til this day, christianity changes based on what people like?
Is it A God's way to change his mind/attitude/way of worship however people like it? I THINK NOT.
So don't take christianity as a serious religion that explains everything you want to know.

Let me tell you, that statement is incorrect.
Can you provide any evidence of that statement being incorrect? Certainly how Christians worship changes based on what is currently convenient in society. Every major scientific breakthrough has another high ranking Christian official saying "That part of the Bible isn't to be taken literally"... Funny, when just a couple hundred years ago the whole thing WAS taken literally. Pretty soon the whole thing will be referred to as nothing but a list of stories created to help you live your life better (yes even the Jesus part)...

Youve gotta understand that the OT books predicted the comming of Jesus. One might argue of the countless translations the bible has gone through. Well if you didnt know, the dead sea scrolls were written between 200BC, and 68AD.. They contained every OT book except Esther. When compared to the manuscrips we have today, they were 99% exact. Not the wording of course, we have a different translation, but in the story plot, theology, ect.

yeah,I can. I saw a piece of documentry that fixed the statement made by dan brown on video.google.com, I'll try to find it. its been a long time ago, so it might take a while to find it. I'll post it as soon as I'll find it, I'll start looking right away.

Hold up, a statement from a fiction author about a fictional book, is supposed to refute something that has been commonly known for decades before the book was published? Heck, people for centuries have been critisizing the church for changing doctrine to suit their own needs. The difference here is they dont get burned as heretics anymore.
The Da Vinci code is hardly the only source for damning information against the established church. Its not the best one either, since it mixes entirely true statements in with statements that are simply theories, and a very few that are false. Its a fiction book, never intended to be anything else guys, get over it.

How does that prove anything? Its some old guy in a suit reading from a teleprompter in front of him. Hooray!
edit: a quick thing i'd like to point out... I've never read the Da Vinci Code, or seen the movie.
because he researched it, simple as that. Dan Brown made a lot of stuff up
As you never read the Da Vinci code, I'll just explain the thing that makes it such a popular novel. nobody reading the book gives a damn about the actual story of the book. what keeps people reading are facts and statements made in the book. example, it is stated that Jesus Christ was married, that he had children and more things like that. the thing is, only half of Dan Browns story is true. some things are true, others are false. one of his statements is that the bible changed and evolved over the years, which is not true.
I am not a religious person, I am just proving that OneMuslims's statement is incorrect.

Unless you can provide links to some of this man's "research", or even evidence that he indeed researched it, he's just an old guy in a suit reading from a teleprompter.

what a wanker you just proved my point by trying to rebut it

Youve gotta understand that the OT books predicted the comming of Jesus. One might argue of the countless translations the bible has gone through. Well if you didnt know, the dead sea scrolls were written between 200BC, and 68AD.. They contained every OT book except Esther. When compared to the manuscrips we have today, they were 99% exact. Not the wording of course, we have a different translation, but in the story plot, theology, ect.

You read the DaVinci Code, didn't you?
Let me tell you, that statement is incorrect.
Can you provide any evidence of that statement being incorrect? Certainly how Christians worship changes based on what is currently convenient in society. Every major scientific breakthrough has another high ranking Christian official saying "That part of the Bible isn't to be taken literally"... Funny, when just a couple hundred years ago the whole thing WAS taken literally. Pretty soon the whole thing will be referred to as nothing but a list of stories created to help you live your life better (yes even the Jesus part)...
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

anyway, I found the link. so to prove the Da Vinci Code And OneMuslim wrong:

edit: a quick thing i'd like to point out...
