Thing about an ass guild leader is they think they are right, and they back up thier laws strictly, no exceptions. If you said somethign he didnt like, he would have just kicked you on the spot and explained to you why in PMs later. Why the delay from the time you said it? Why did another guild member have to PM you afterwards and ask you to appologize? And then, after that is why you got kicked? After the guild leader told you he was going to? What part of this are we not being filled in on? What got said in between the first comment and the kick, thats what we need to know. That appears to be more the reason for the kick than the movie name itself.

the delay was he has to find me since it was a aliance made up of multiple guilds. the guy pmed me because me and him were haveing a fun chat right before. and thefact that i refused to appologize over something so childish i would rather be kicked rather then appologize for something so stupid.

the guild member told me that he was a very uptight guy.

you say they when the other guild members where defending me where it was only the one guild leader who was mad.

and i only came here to get people's opinions on the matter.

i was thinking of going back. the fact was he accually was not the real leader, there was no real set leader to the guild.

Well theres your answer, why you coing here to piss and whine and be all butt hurt.  Your 20 yrs old.  this will happen a lot as you get older.  Time to just take a deep breathe and move on to find a group of people that you'll get along much better with.

Maybe the Guild Leader just really hated the movie? :)

I don't buy the "it's not a swear word" bit as, well, yes, it is a word that is used to swear. No matter which definition you are thinking of. And if you're thinking of those other definitions, well, there are other words that aren't swear words that can be used as was listed here.

I'm not judging or taking sides, mind you, but you know perfectly well ass is a swear word (which is most likely why you chose that particular movie as there are a TON of movies that could be used in its place to the same effect). The guild has a no swear policy which you were aware of. Why push it? Why try to "get away with one"? If you like the guild obey the rules. Simple.

Going by your version of the story it does seem a little extreme if this was your first offense. But there is always the other sides story where they may be complaints about your past behavior (that you don't know about) from other guild members as well as their may be other infractions that we on these forums don't know about.

Just as I am not judging you I also won't judge the GL or the guild as I don't know their side of the story. That said, good advice has been given in this thread as far as moving on and finding a guild that allows swearing. Most will state so in their rules available to read when applying. It's obvious you want to curse so join a guild of like-minded cursers.

All I gotta say is since it went unanswered which game are you playing cause that may be the ROUTE of your issues.

If it's that god awful waste of pixilation WoW, or any of those "top" mmorpgs geared towards children all I gotta say if you can't find a mature guild leave the game. =D [This is a troll alert!]

    Uh huh.

Dude, get over it, move on. The way you come here asking for our opinion, IMO, makes you sound like a little drama queen and drama is my #1 enemy as a guild leader....anyone prone to drama needs to be booted. Obviously that's not the guild for you, find another.

Okay thanks a bunch, well that being sad guild wars is great I find it odd however a guild like that exissts in that game.. But then I haven't played it for quite sometime. I own a guild there but it's more than likely dead, if you are interested in starting something perhaps I can give you a higher rank and you can recruit some friends.

well the tihng is, it was only that guy. everyone else was fun and helpful. they would take time to help almost anyone. my only problem is the guy. now if you wanted drama i would tell you his name and the guild and the alliance name. thats not the problem here.

well just because most the people are great, does not mean all of them are.

Well I understand that but it's been my experience that Guild Wars has sorta attracted the more mature audiance compared to the leading mmorpgs.

Chances are it's not "only that guy" - Chances are it's many, but he's the one who hd the power to boot your ass (get it?! :D ). The more you type, the more I understand why they (and yes, more than the one guy was in on it) did it.

First, since people will assume the wrong things because of my following statements, I will say that I generally don't join any guilds because I hate the drama. Also I curse.

When you join a guild and then ignore their rules and get punished, well you ignored the rules. Regardless of you not thinking that ass is a swear, many people do. Sure you can be technical and say its definition but many people also feel bitch is a swear and it has actual definitions.

It's similar to ignoring a game's CoC, getting banned, and then crying about how stupid the rules are (which we all see posts about almost daily on this site). You knew the rules going in, so if you break them and get punished you have it coming.

Different guilds have different rules and different enforcement. Take the time to learn all of that before joining a guild or it is no one's fault but your own that you get kicked.

see i can unserstand a no cursing rule. cuseign can get out of hand, but if you are refrenceing a movie's NAME which you can read just walkign though wallmart. then there is something really wrong.

Well back in lotro we had the same thing happen.  We had this one person who had been warned several times about his actions.

Then one night he quoted a line  from a movie that had about 8 f bombs in a row, it was from one of Jack Nicleson movies.

We had an officer meating on the spot and boom, out. His defence was I was quoting a movie line.

All I can say is you did not fit their playstyle and it is better off for you and them to not be around each other.  Not trying to be judgemental, just saying to be kicked on the first office is harsh. Would be nice to know the entire history of the story.

why would you say that more then one guy was in on it?  i think you are getitng alot of bad ideas and jusgeing me over somethign that has nothing to do with ahnything. infact i  know you are comeign to the wrong idea abotu everytihng you are thinking.

The fact that you are referencing a movie name honestly is a lame excuse because you can think of almost every swear word in some movie title, that's my point of why I say either way what difference does it make?  The guild leader may be a tool but you're just a different type of tool for even trying to say that when you knew there was a no swearing rule.  Yes as stated earlier and as I've seen tons of times in guilds I've been in lot's of times people on the "bubble" will get kicked for rules that often get others a warning but considering you tried to test the boundaries this time with this thing how do we not know that you've done this from the time you got into the guild?

That's why I say all the harping is pointless the guild wasn't for you and you weren't for them to each there own have some dignity and move on.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

Really doesn't matter why a guild kicks a player in my opinion. If the creators of the guild don't want them in their guild, why would the player be upset? The player and the guild leaders don't mix and should go their separate ways. Plain and simple. It's only when unnecessary drama gets involved that people decide to complain, make a fuss over it, argue the reasoning, etc. It's a lot easier if the player and the guild just moves on. It's just a game.

Sounds like your mistake for joining an uptight guild that probably blind invites everyone within their visual field.

    Swear word policies are idiotic.

Guilds that blind invite people are usually big jokes.

You joined a guild that probably blind invited you, and had a swear word policy. Yea...

oh yah that guy deserved it. even if it was only a quote from a movie it is still not ready for primetime.

buit really i gave the whole story.

    i said kickass

he said it was unacceptable for any guild member to do that.

my friend in the guild who knew him longer messaged me saying "hes does not mess around appologize before he kicks you!"

i refuse to appologize because its againt my morels because its a mokie title (not even something you need to go into the movie to see... it coudlb e read outside the move therters on posters a billboards it was everywhere.)

    he started hunting down

i asked if he did not like the movie,

sone else said "kickass was cool"(ignored probalby because he was already focused on me or thought it was me)

i tell him which guild i am in

i say "goodbye guys i prob wont be back ^_^ good luck"

    kicked.

  • Bama1267Bama1267 Member UncommonPosts: 1,822

The bigger picture is they or he/she was already annoyed by you for another reason. This was probably not the sole reason you were kicked even If they did not tell you so. Either way, If a guild does not want you, you are better off now than you would be later.

  • FdzzaiglFdzzaigl Member UncommonPosts: 2,433

What idiocy is that (if it went on exactly like you said)?

People who have that much trouble with a few words couldn't even walk out on the street where I live without being offended by more things than you can count on both hands...

I always tend to pick a loose guild of people who have no trouble dealing with a bit of black or dirty purdy humor, but who have a 'no BS' attitude when things get intense.

Couldn't even imagine joining a bunch of people with a "Holier than thou" attitude like that.

the thing is guys, a guild leader (accualy he was an officer not a leader(all officers are given full access)) does not make a guild. i liked the other guild members and even made alot of freinds there. but the bad drop ruined it.
