Obviously if encounters were changed to not rely on a holy trinity model, it would help.

I think that's the problem, not the roles. So long as we have that model, we'll have to min/max and pl…
If you intend to do endgame raid content within a guild, I expect you'd have this problem no matter what. With or without roles, you'll have the guild leaders who demand certain tank specs, certain heal specs, etc. I'd rather have a role available…
Unfortunately the poor Supercarrier (previously known as Mothership) never had a clear role much like the lion in Wizard of Oz didn't have a heart.
I thought the lion didn't have courage, and the tin man didn't have a heart?

What about the Realm (Codemasters/Norseman Games)
i think that beats wizards for a few YEARS
When 'The Realm' was first released, it wasn't an Indy game - it was made by Sierra.
Tactics in EVE are 100% player skill. It's not a matter of just having the right fit, or bringing the right ships. It's far more important to out maneuver, bait, trick and surprise your enemy then anything else. 90% of the time, the fight is deci…
Don't get me wrong - I love the open RvR when it's working, but it's rarely working. Keep Seiges are over before the other side gets a chance at defending, it's rarely balanced as we usually steamroll Order simply becuase we have more players, so i…
I don't understand the complaints about 'mindless zombies grinding scenarios'. Did you ever stop to think that we enjoy the PvP in scenarios? It's fast paced, more challenging then PvE, provides better gear, and fair XP. It's not all about min/ma…

I regularly come and go from EVE. I don't have the time to play constantly like I once did, so it was nice to be able to shut it off for a month when I didn't want to pay, and know that I could come back to it as if I'd never left. Sure that may n…

I played for a bit when it first came out, but dropped it because my brother couldn't play on his machine.
We just got back into it, and loving every minute of it. Never had so much fun in PvE before. And the noob zones are filled with trials, s…
Independence War II - Edge of Chaos had a very similar control scheme - and it was a ton of fun.
Normal flight was easy - you come to stop quickly, when you shut off your lateral thrusters you stop moving in that direction, but if you turn off th…
