That's another screenshot they claim is their early in-game rendering. I'm assuming Freeport (I think maybe a panel confirmed that too?). I think it looks fantastic, personally.
They've already emphatically stated that this will not be FreeRe…

Actually I find this to be about perfect. I tend to come back every couple GUs or so to chat with old friends and see what's changed. I have no intentions (nor the time) to stay longer. I appreciate that I can now spend $5.00 to check back in instea…
Most recent games I've tried are too hectic for my tastes. I like that in EQ1 I had plenty of time to talk in the middle on combat without being forced to use Vent/Teamspeak. I didn't have to press buttons as fast as they popped up. It probably com…

I almost think that any game that will have a chance of becoming popular going forward will have to be self-published. Blizzard and CCP and Turbine have created, what in my mind, are the three most notable MMOs running right now. WoW is the consumat…
I just want a game that has a slower pace to it. It's absolutely impossible to chat with anyone in groups anymore unless you have voice chat. What happened to just mingling with people in groups while getting some experience and maybe a decent item …
I'd say it's more than certain groups of gamers (most likely a lot of people on this board) are out of touch with what the vast majority of gamers want and actively pay $14.99 a month for. Developers pretty much do as our money asks them to.
All the community has been taken out of games. It's impossible to chat with your group mates during combat and there's little to no downtime. Everything is now simply about how fast you can blitz a dungeon of weak monsters to get to the shiny treasu…
I'll bite.
-My first character, a human paladin in Qeynos, died three times before I even laid eye on a monster. Trying to figure out how to swim in that pool beneath the flying saucer was a bitch.

I can't say much about L2 or FFXI, never played 'em. Norrath v2.0 is certainly bigger than Azeroth though. EQ2 tends toward a smaller number of huge zones rather than smaller and more numerous. There are loading screens between each.
Face it, Deep Breath being on a (slotted) 2.5 minute timer was an obvious mistake. It was a crutch. They improved several of their heals to (sorta) makeup for it, as well. Whatever personal defense they may have lost was made up for in improvements …
Check out the official forums. All of the class forums have an extensive picture thread, random browsing through there will yield plenty of nice pictures. Knowing exactly what the item is is rather hit-or-miss, but it's something.
Sounds good. It'll be nice leveling through those areas I've already done faster than before!
Also, what's this Scroll of Ressurection I keep hearing about? And what would I need to provide to get one?

I just hope they keep doing what they did to Khal, so that someday the entire world will have that amount of detail and atmosphere.
edit: Oh, and a new particle fx system, so that the spells would look better. I reall…
I think that the way the game is going is great. The trait system sets itself up perfectly for horizontal improvement. Long, epic quests in zones tailored to level 50 play could reward you with legendary (or some new higher tier) traits you can …
Wasn't there a server like this for about a month in EQ1? Whenever you died you respawned in your home city at level 1. Can't remember the name, though it was never the most popular, for sure.
