Background: Tribes 1 Clan Flag-capper. Tribes 2 casual player.
Been playing the Beta and loving the fact that I am back in Tribes. Much of the same magic is there. The Spinfusor weapon plus trajectory movement is a perfect match. Skiing works but …
Ah, I see. This ia actually an interesting situation.
I agree with you.
The "Western" (in quotes because I am calling it that although that is likely not quite accurate) F2Ps mostly put content behind paywalls. It's something I don't care fo…

For example, I wouldn't have an issue with a microtransaction game that just charged you slightly more than a B2P game would cost to unlock all the content (along with other restrictions like no P2W). Like if it…
To the original poster:
You're way off base. It's no scam. I have played F2P's exclusively for about two years. I'm not mortgaging my house for any of them. I've spent a TOTAL of $60 in two years on F2Ps.

Been interesting following this thread. I beta'd this game, liked it but burned out on the grinding.
My hope is that once the market saturation of F2Ps tops out we will start to see the better games and games companies shine through.

The Darkness Falls (DF) Dungeons were, in my opinion, the best feature ever added to a PvP game.
Only the Realm with the most keeps had the entrance unlocke…
One of the things I love about it is the variety of stuff to do. Little mini-games, some instanced like the hedge mazes. And lots of weird ones like the shrimp/crab battle.
The pet/mount system is pretty simple but challenging. It has multi-…
And as far as charging for stuff like speed spells, health pots and bag space I am glad to pay for those things to fund the game.
They will NEVER come close to being a subscription amount.
In fact, the last game I used the cash shop for I bought $…
No. A company can LISTEN to their community but should not drive their game design by them. You get a big enough of a community voting and every game will turn into one another. A game company/producer needs to have a vision and stick to it.
A recent F2P I played had a story early on where you went searching for a young man's fiance only to find her ghost where she had died.
This story was presented with very little text and a series of very dramatic locations and characters.
