I gave it an 8 because I've actually really enjoyed it so far and see a lot of potential.
I do have to acknowledge, though, that the 8 is giving Funcom the benefit of the doubt that a number of bugs, incomplete feature and other problems will be addressed in the next month or so.
Although I'm glad to be playing the game, even as is, it's too bad the game didn't have another three months of development time. If all the current major issues had been solved before launch, I think the game could have been the best recieved new titles since WoW.
gave it a 9 because when i rated it on the gamelist my overall rating of it was 9.4

I give it a 4. Why because any game i don t want to log into after a week of release, is to me a failure. Overall i know it s not a fialure but to me it is. As for can t wait to see 6 months from now, me as well:) I think for different reasons.
4. I'm very social character and use courtesy when interacting. I'm not getting much feedback from other players and very little conversation. I only met one fellow character who seems to be like minded player.
5. Great graphics
6. Innovative combat style that keeps you actively engaging
7. Story line is pretty good. I'm impressed.
8. Leveling is pretty fast. Atleast lvl 1-20 anyways. I expect it to lengthen as I progress.
9. Lots of instances. I like real time sandbox like SWG pre-NGE. Maybe thats my problem, I'm always comparing every new MMO I play with the first MMO that truly captured my imagination.
10. I'll give AoC two months before I decide to stay with them. I'm curious to check out player cities and guild involvement before I make my final decision.
11. E-mail and Crafting system not established yet. Uhh.......hello.
12. Reminds me of LoTRO, but with huge frickin swords and blood.
13. I'm curious to see how grind works when I get those gaps between quest. I'm a grinder, I'm old school. I enjoy being in a group laughing and smashing on PvE and PvP. Not much of quester. I pay to have interaction in a game with other players, not be solo. There are plenty of excellent non-MMO games out there that don't require a monthly fee.
I gave AoC a 6 out of 10. I'm still keeping my WAR pre-order if that tells you anything. I hope for the best with AoC, lots of potential. Funcom has busy days ahead of them to clean it up and finish.
anyone who rates this 1-5 : - hasnt played the game - cant play the game cause of an old computer - game runs poorly - is having issues with vista/gpu
i give it a 'first day impression' score of 9.
Not true, If a game isn't even good enough to go past level 20 which is what you see a lot of. Then odds are the game doesn't deserve higher than a five.
My computer is more than capable of running AoC at max everything, and though the game does look nice, I don't think your going to find anyone who will dispute that fact. IMO the game is garbage in all other aspects except graphics. If a game isn't even good enough to make you want to play past 20.... People should be allowed to vote how they see fit.
1. severe multiplayer limitations (only 48 people per zone) 2. Bad Community 3. Bad implementation of PvP without rewards and punishments 4. little armor customization 5. smaller than average zones with non functinal backgrounds 6. Some classes are in dire need of repair (taunt is next to useless for tanks) 7. Exploitable system (traders turned off because two days before official release a guild figured out how to dupe money on the system...not a good sign) 8. UI is very poor. Huge icons, clumsy hotbars, small hotbars, huge windows (this has been fixed by 3rd party UI Modders) 9. Chat system is very poor 10. Guild operations very poor. Currently you cannot promote anyone. Its easy to get kicked out of a Guild (there is a chance if you crash, you get kicked from the guild. If this happens to the leader then the guild is screwed since there isnt a promotion system in the guild or an automatic promotion whenever the leader leaves) 11. Starting area restricts you to a very linear approach to questing for the first 25% of your total character progression. 12. Fatalities is flawed. If you are fighting multiple mobs and you do a fatality on the first person, the other mobs will get free swings at you because you are doing a cinematic move. 13. Limited harvest areas for those who harvests things post lvl 20 14. Having to wait until lvl 40 to craft. 15. Siege warfare is flawed when you can only have 48 people in a zone.
it's not 48 per zone its 48 vs 48 get your facts right and you are just a troll, you post negative post all the time you must be getting paid to post negative things about AoC, couse your posting history is FULL of them
I rated it a 7. I did this because while the game looks good and it is an ok game it just isn't THAT good or THAT bad. It just in the end feels the same as other MMORPGS. I think my expectations are just too high now as I've been playing MMORPG's too long and I'm not feeling the kick anymore.
I'm enjoying the game so far. I'd easily give it a 7.
I'm enjoying the combat and the quests have been quite enjoyable. The world opens up after Tortage and isn't linear in that fashion at all, that I have seen in Khopshef. I've only found one bugged quest so far, up to a lvl 29 Tempest of Set.
The downside if the UI. It's functional, but it could be a lot better. I can especially see it becoming a problem with a melee class with a lot of combos and it can get to be a pain trying to switch to different button sets for different weapons, especially for rangers.
1. Funcom needs to grow up and stop acting elitist about certain things (thats an opinion btw). They need to work on their customer service.
This isnt Funcom's 1st MMO, Anarchy Online Vets can tell you exactly how FC handles customer service.. We are seeing it repeated in Age of Conan. How they deal with game issues will make you feel like they really don't care about there customers.
They already have a post on AoC Forums looking for volunteer forum Moderators. You will most likely also see in-Game customer service being handled by player volunteers at some point (i.e. the ARK system in Anarchy Online) These volunteer "GM"s will be the ones answering your petitions and have little power to solve real in-game issues and in my opinion are there to insulate FunCom from an unhappy player base.
I think you can use your imagination to guess the kind of customer service quality youll get from a volunteer who has no GM tools to solve game issues. Not to mention the kind of personality that applies to work in that position (unsympathetic s00per-rabid fanbois more often than not). And the majority response you will get "Please E-Mail Support@FunCom.com to solve this problem".
Expect your e-mail to be replied to in 2-3 days at the earliest, usualy that e-mail will not be understood by the responder and youll will have to clarify the issue 1-2 more times with replies each taking a day or 2 to get answered. If your problem has something to do with not being able to log into your account due to a database error this can be an excersize in patience.
Expect that you will probably never see a Developer comment on anything other than the new expansion they want to sell you. Any comment about game problems will be made by the head forum moderators (more insulation) and will consist of a statement saying "'We are aware of these issues and the developers are working on a solution, thank you for your understanding on this matter".
Reading all of the above may make it look like I am hating on FunCom. but I did play Anarchy Online for 5 years so I would say I am a big fan. I played those 5 years knowing that Customer Service didn't exist. And the best solves for almost all issues will come from the player community, just like they did during the open beta. The community posted solutions to the torrent download problems, not FunCom or SolidState Networks. The community posted sollutions to the "/claim" problem. The community is listing the broken features and warnings about what features not to use as they will harm your character, not FunCom.
If you are in Age of Conan for the long haul this is pretty much what you will come to expect, just know that upfront. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, please don't flame the messenger.
This game has major bugs. Reset feats, you lose your gathering skills, traders not working yet(although being fixed today). Very little content after level 42ish. I had a piece of level 10 gear that I wore to 35 because no better gear dropped. Many quests are bugged and don't work. Economy nonexistant at moment. All the armor looks the same. Unable to use most of the professions because almost all of them are not working correctly. Some instances dont drop loot. Pretty much have to grind to 80 from level 50. Other than that great game lol.
Having made it to lv 53 ive become completely bored. At first i really liked it but after a number of hours its flaws start to become glaringly obvious. The classes are boring, you cant customize your toon at all,in the end there will be only 1 or 2 different builds for each class. The loot is absolutly pathetic. No sense of accomplishment. Very small world, only 1 or 2 different zones to level. linear. The whole way the game was set up is just stange. Its all built to solo and when you do get in a group to do dungeons it just feels all wrong and the play becomes tedious and stupid. Ive never played wow so cant compare it to that. My main mmo experience is ddo and lotro and although ive moved on from those games they held my attention much longer than this game has. The graphics are good but as for long term fun id have to say this game is an epic fail. I really wanted to like this game and followed it for some time but saddly wont subscribe. 4 out of 10
Gave it an 8, I havent had much trouble at all with the game runs great max setting max resultion on the deathwhisper server biggest pvp server. Im currently level 40 and rocking hard. But I do hear people are having bug issues, mostly with junk bugs and things like crafting and picking up 2 prof even though your only supposed to have one! anyways I gave it an 8 seeing for a launch its ran smooth and good, the first few days they were allways updating at crap times between 1pm and 7 pm CST but lately been doing it between 5am-10am CST so that is an improvement. I dont think there is an MMO out there that will get a 10 on its first year of being a game, but This one has a good chance of becoming one later on in its life.

What can I say beyond it was a let down.

Wow, just toss out all the haters who voted 1, and all the fanboys who voted 10. That's ridiculous.
I gave it a 6.
Too buggy.
Too instanced.
Woefully inefficient rendering engine requires insane system requirements to make it look/run halfway decently.
gave it a 9 because when i rated it on the gamelist my overall rating of it was 9.4

I gave it a 9. Overall an excellant game, but needs a bit more polish. Can't wait to see the game 6 months from now.

55% rate Age of Conan 1 to 7. pc.gamezone.com rates it 9.4 overall.
How can there be such a difference btw pc.gamezone.com and the actual players?
It isn't rocket science to know that the people who rated this game a 1, even 2-3 never played the game.
Too linear.
Too much of a quest grind.
Excellent graphics.
Great music.
Good class design.
Runs very well on my comp. (Quad Core, 8800 Video card, 4 gigs RAM)
Summation: Good RPG, poor MMO. A game for people who liked Oblivion.
It isn't rocket science to know that the people who rated this game a 1, even 2-3 never played the game.
It isnt rocket science that the fanbois gaved it a 10 when they actually thought it was worth a 8 or a 9.
1. Horrible UI
2. Chat box seems to be an after thought
3. Too linear
4. I'm very social character and use courtesy when interacting. I'm not getting much feedback from other players and very little conversation. I only met one fellow character who seems to be like minded player.

3 out of 10 for me.
It isn't rocket science to know that the people who rated this game a 1, even 2-3 never played the game.
It isnt rocket science that the fanbois gaved it a 10 when they actually thought it was worth a 8 or a 9.
No, it isn't.No game deserves a 1, and AoC for graphics and music alone deserves at least 4.
AoC doesn't deserve a 10, though fanboys who rated it 10 would hae rated it 8 possibly, as you say.
It doesn't really matter. This kind of poll on THIS kind of forums has to be taken extremely lightly.
Im very impressed with the game. But there are some things id like to see in the future.
More Balanced PvP is needed, its unfair when a lvl 40 can come up to you a lvl 9 and destroy you.
Less Instancing. It does get better outside of Tortage but im seeing too many loading screens for an MMO
Beyond these two issues the game is very good, its relatively smooth for a release and I can see myself playing it for years to come.
it's not 48 per zone its 48 vs 48 get your facts right and you are just a troll, you post negative post all the time you must be getting paid to post negative things about AoC, couse your posting history is FULL of them
Poll speaks for itself. All the trolls can go back to wow.

what didnt you like about it?
UI, Combat, Instancing, Graphics load, and a few other minor things that if it was just them i'd of played.
Just not what I had built it up to be. O'well just waiting on SGW and Aion hoping one of them grabs me.
I'm enjoying the game so far. I'd easily give it a 7.
