If you expected this to kill WoW then you're simply setting yourself up for dissapointment, because MMOs are harder to kill than cockroaches. Plenty of older games like EQ still have subscriber bases and therefore are not 'dead'. So just don't say things like that in the future, other people with less patience than I will just flat out call you a moron.
Second, many of the people who say this game is going to fail haven't even played it. They see some content getting cut, skip entirely over the reasonable explaination of why and trot over to the WoW forums to crow happily about how ''THIS GAME IS GON FAIL! WOW RULEZ YOU DREWLZ''.
Third, I'd rather they didn't release unbalanced and unfinished classes. Anyone here play WoW at launch as a Hunter or a Warlock or a Paladin? Blizzard to this day ( 3 years later) is STILL trying too fix these classes. I'm glad Mythic won't be doing that.
The game is still looking fun, there are still 20 classes and 2 amazing cities. Mythic will patch the other stuff in at a later date.
How do you know that?
Because they are delaying careers and cities until they are done...

You go through the mess of trying to balance 35+ classes in a game. It's something you don't want to do twice.
-------------------------------------- A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"
Probably best to wait until release to find out if the game will fail or not. In my opinion though I think it will be just average, another alernative to those who aren't playing WOW or some other mmo.

Everytime I see your name I think of that movie with the nerdy indian named viktor...
Anyhow...I believe they have a strong enough foundation to have a pretty decent game. I'm almost positive that the game will be more fun for me than WoW is currently (The grinds are killin' me).

Truth bet told if this game doesnt blow any PVP game out of the water currently available it will be a flop. MMO. players especially veteran players like myself won't settle for a repeat of games like WOW or even DAOC. PVP/RVR players are not consumed by lore or storyline. The wishful in waiting are looking for an always on fast paced PVP style game with a purpose. You know something WOW or games like Guild Wars don't offer from a PVP perspective. Objective PVP is what is desired and farming honor points for uber gear is not the driving factor to maintain a veteran PVP player base. I personally could care less about story or quests in any game. I level only to get to max so i can PVP ALL the time. I hate PVE but am willing to do it as part of the reward of being a high level player. If your looking for story or lore why not play Everquest? For Warhammer to be a success it must pull the PVP element of all MMO"s and dominate the MMO genre from that perspective. The WOW PVE for life crew isnt leaving any time soon for a real man's PVP game.
And then again, I guess it all depends on your definition of successful. Will the game fail as in close down? I can just about guarantee it won't with EA backing it, it'll always have a fanbase full of Warhammer franchise fans. Just like Vanguard/Tabula Rasa have always had a small niche fanbase. And soon AoC *cough* I believe Mythic would have to epically screw up (We're talking Funcom screw ups here) to really blow it. They have a lot of fans that have loved Warhammer for 20 years, and fans that have loved RvR for 8(?) years. Combine the two fanbases, and I really doubt they'll ever drop to deathly sub numbers. I've stuck with Vanguard for over a year, and I'm STILL sticking with AoC (Because I bought 3 months at launch =P) so after them too, I'm sure anything Mythic throws at me will be a breath of fresh air from them messes. MMOs are a time investment, invest in whichever one(s) you want. The one important thing is you have fun. As long as you have fun who cares what anyone else thinks about the game? Lastly, always keep in mind the doom and gloomers/trolls are usually the minority. There's something they don't like or don't agree with and they want to be vocal about it. That's fine, it's their money they're spending, they have every right to be vocal about their opinions. But in most cases, their the minority because the ones enjoying the game are playing the game, not in a public forum or the like defending it. AoC an exception.
Once the game comes out I'll probably be taking a break from the forums and eventually come back, but much less often. Non-forum goers will greatly outnumber forum-goers, so they really will be the minority when it comes out.

The great thing about this game is it has something for everyone.
Like to PvE? Dungeons and Player Quests! The Tome of Knowledge will help you uncover the secrets of Warhammer along the way!
Like to PvP(RvR)? You have a long list of things to do. You can join senarios if you're only going to be on for a little while (you won't get the leet gear, but god it's fun to slaughter). If you have some more time, go out with your guild and take down a keep. You get the best rewards from your teir and the keep to claim for your guild! Once you've pushed your way to the gates of the oppositions' city, take that. Everyone has a part to play in sacking a city! Want to just slaughter and level up at the same time? Head to the RvR area.
And in the end everything that you do affects your realm in one way or another, whether it be PvE or RvR.

Some will leave in peace if they quit the game, but a lot of them think it's necessary to tell the public thqat they're leaving and why. Of course, I don't think it'll be as much of an issue without having official forums.
I for one won't be on the forums unless at work after the game launches, for the most part. Unless I need a technical issue solved, or read a guide, etc.
I was agreeing with you

I guess for me what's hard to understand....WAR was schedualed to be introduced LAST YEAR. Ok...so now it's been pushed back to 2008 for it's introduction. So what's going on...a year added to development....and a major cuts in content. You decide what that means.

Well, you obviously can not tell what is serious and what is irony. Along with about 100k forum users here! Anyway, I am going to get banned about this (again), so if we don't speak again, have fun with Failhammer. I'll be reading your posts when you will be calling Mythic "a bunch of idiots", "liars" etc.

Like you my friend I am in beta as well and I feel that they should wait another 3 mos (at least) until they finish the classes.
I think a good majority of people here who aren't in beta will want the game rushed out in a AoC state just so they can say this game sucks balls and the hype was all for nothing. I'm very disappointed in Mark Jacob's decision to take the classes out/not put them in and then say that this continues to be a good/great game.
P.S.
I cannot wait til NDA is lifted so I can put up my heartily honest opinion on this game which includes the bad and the good "Mark you are gonna regret not putting those classes in the finished product" (mark my words).

Hehe, I am saving this for future reference!
What I DO NOT understand ....
WAR is being promoted as THE future PVP game all hardened PVP players should come to...
So WHY is the PvP fighting animation soooo slow and stiff.
And NO... the lightning doesn not make up for the vast slowly moving characters in the fights.
It's the same stiff animation you see in DAoC but with more detailed pixels.
--- example ----
Look in WAR at that famous (standing still) fire caster wizard, OK ?
Now look at some fights of fire casting Mages in WOW.
---
Simple remark: HOW can they recruit PvP players with worse PvP animations ?
And btw animations have nothing to do with number of pixels.
If this is not a NDA breach, then what is? A guy in beta just said that he thinks the game is not finished. Did you hear that WARboys? And he is not the first beta player to say that!
