I think its better when games limit you, the player, to only take 1 crafting skill.
Why?
Doing it this way promotes trading in its most simplest form. Guy 1: I need a wood bow! Can trade for metal sword. Guy 2: Deal!
Game where your character has a god-given talent to become universally good at every crafting. There wont be a simple trading activity because if I can make everything I want by myself why would I need your help? Can we go back to What Game You are Playing discussion? It was more fun.
This is honestly a really good point, not everyone is going to be on a Leonardo Da Vinci level of crafting the way that a character in Darkfall can be, and it makes the economy run incredibly smoothly due to specialization, kind of like we have in most countries today.
