Someday we'll all look back on the age of computers - and lol.
I must confess, although I do like the look of this game, it is the manual aim that puts me off (another reason I avoided AoC).
Not a big fan of twitch based combat, people that bang on about skill seem to be a tad on the juvenile side (but then again since I'm over 40 that means the bulk of gamers :P)
Gonna watch how TERA does though, as it strikes me as being a more team-play oriented affair!

Indeed this game won't be for 40 year old guys slow-hand, slow-reaction type of players. But there are many other games like WoW, SWTOR etc. that can be played from old guys.

80% of players will be using auto aim mods anyway so its not an issue.
WOW isnt great because it has 12 million players. WOW has 12 million players because its great.

Why a troll? I dislike cash shops and you know, or should know, yourself that people use auto aim in these type games. As for what I like, I enjoyed my time in LOTRO, EQ2 and WOW for a couple years as well. Gave War a few months, tried AOC and Aion and DDO before it went F2P. Im watching Rift but if a cash shop is revelaed I will avoid it as well. So you see, its not trolling so much as having seen all this before. In fact, the Aion cheerleading was quite similar to what I see here now and the graphics look pretty much the same as well which is to be expected since they are both asian games.

Sorry to break it to you but there wan't be any aim mods.
If there are, there won't be a difference either, why? Auto aim for melee doesn't really matter unless you got no fingers to move the mouse or sth, it's so damn easy to AIM with melee (hit is another story). Auto aim with fireballs? Like guided missiles? Yep, we got an idiot here. You fire the spell at the enemy it doesn't matter because the enemy is moving. Actually it will make it harder to hit if you use an auto aim mod because a player will aim the spell in advance of the enemy so he will hit him, with auto aim mods you will almost always miss.
Cash shop will not affect any player at all unless you wanna buy some things to make your character look c00l. If not, just avoid them you won't lose on anything. Aion graphics won't be the same with TERA, you can count on that. Other than boasting superb graphics, it will also have much more detailed models and enviroment which will make Aion look like mario.

Yes, this idiot has been hearing this about cash shops since their inception. Enjoy your asian grinder but when this game launches I cant wait for the reactions.

I like your "it's asian, therefore it sucks" philisophy. As for the cash shop the company itself said that there won't be any at launch and there is only a possibility about later. If it ever exists it will be only for vanity items since it's a subscription based game and besides, there are many p2p games with a vanity shop. It will be the same for this one too. And I can't wait the reactions from guys like you either when the game launches.

You know it's a real shame the west can't make a good enough game for you to play so we would not have to suffer your pissing & moaning on these forums.
Have a nice day Troll
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
this game will be dominate by fps pro's counter strike-mw2 etc etc wait & see lol
This game needs good aim and probably good brains unlike most CS and mw2 players (no offense). So yes, if a player got both then why not, I wouldn't have a problem getting killed by his sword.

Well Tera does lean more towards the FPSish style of gameplay, but it's still heavly influenced by fantasy mmo style of combat.
To be honest I do hope that the CS / MW2 players can make the conversion to this style.....(the more PRO Archers, the better)

Yesterday at gamescom i played quite a few mmo's they got there, and tera got the only combat system that i liked, it was faster and the fact that you have to aim is great, i played all classes that where included in the demo at gamescom, meele and ranged, and it just felt right. you have to be aware of the distance between you and the creeps and have to aim right at them, i had to concentrate more then i am used to from other games like wow aion and so on. I can only image how thrilling the pvp fights will be.

It's not like you're going to have to use manual aim during grinding, if you've seen any of the videos it doesn't look like much manual aim is needed.
PvP on the other hand is a different story, honestly I just hope ranged/casters don't get screwed. I could see an arrow or fireblast being easily dodged compared to someone in your face stabbing you.
Did they announce if this game is FFA? I'm so sick of faction vs faction bs, i want to be able to kill anyone.

Well we only seen the low level gameplay and they are much bound by the NDA still at this point. The action and how much the AI will react and move and still unknown.

How far could you hang back in TERA as an archer / priest / Sorc? Do yuo spend a lot of your time dodging, or is that the tank's job?
Click each class to see the range of each class. 15M seems a bit short on the gameplay videos but it is mostly because of balancing in early stages.
Yes you will dodge most aoe unless the tank blocks the damage. I'm not entirely sure how much a tank can block or if a cone shape type of block will be there behind the tank if they block it. Maybe if the tank blocked it then the characters 3-5M behind the tank would receive little to no damage at all. Again it is all speculations at the moment since the game is still on a NDA
The reason you have to aim is a HUGE reason as to why a lot of us want to play. Take's a lot more skill to actually aim at what your trying to hit, then to have the old school auto aim.
Not surprised there are going to be people who aren't going to like it. To each his own.
I agree that aiming adds a lot to skill but it is not the only factor that goes into "skill".It can actually remove skill especially if this game runs on Korean servers, the latency issue would be HUGE !.
I have noticed large gaps in latency just playing south/east/west servers in the USA.
RPG's also need less aiming skill than say a first peson shooter,it SHOULD be in BOTH cases more about strategy than just aiming.Example i have a weapon that does more damage, sure you might stand a chance if i have crappy aim ,but with equal aim the fight is lopsided without strategy.
Once you start to tread the path of "SKILL" then imo the game needs to go ALL the way and improve map making skills to incorporate thoughful attacks.Terrain need to play a large role in skillful combat, what TYPE of weapon should matter more than who has the biggest gun.
So for argument sakes ,i would MUCH rather have a thoughful combat system than a weak one with just aiming,in which case i would much rather have the good system with auto aim. There is a TON of thoughful combat that can be laid out with an auto aim system,it has just been a weak part of RPG development.
