Well, the head Dev said that there WILL be one in the next release due in another week or two. Its a done deal. Not up for discussion or debate. Personally, I'm happy to see it. I wish I'd had it at launch. I wish you all the best in finding a new game that you can enjoy.
Indeed, and that's why I already canceled my sub. I've always got several games that I play, so quitting one is no big deal. I just put more time into another one. Then later, I'll stumble across another one that's fun.
Also like I've said before, I have no issue with people who know what a queue tool brings and know it's what they want. Some people really do prefer that type of game. Just don't expect the game to stay the same, because it won't.
I am/was against the LFG tool. I'm holding judgment until I see it in action. The fact that it's NOT cross-server is why I'm not seriously thinking about the same action as you Endo.
Trion is well aware of people's distaste for a LFG tool, but if it remains server only I don't see it as much of a problem.
There will still be accountability. There will still be opportunities for people to get to know each other and become familiar with others on the same server. Oddly, this could bring the community closer.
I see cross-server as the destructive element in a tool like this. Trion has chosen not to go that route...yet. I feel that is a very good choice or else I'd probably end up /quit right along with ya.
They are teaching them to be Good Citizens of course.... Any way, the upshot of this is, there will be a LFG system. I've always been very in favor of having one. Even if its cross shard, by connecting it to the ignore list at the account level, that brings some accountability to it.
This "community" that so many people go on(and on...) about, is little more than an illusion. Its a sequence of random snap shots of dealing with random people. Once in a while one of those may work out for the better. But given the nature of the general population these days, I really have NO interest in dealing with 98% of them. Anything that allows me to by pass that is all to the good in my mind.
LOL, I noticed how, in that article, Justin Olivetti sarcastically implies that Rift is starting to die out and their devs are trying to ramp up the advertising. Honestly, that's somewhat harsh. =o

Let's get back on topic guys. Thanks.

That's why we need to work at forming good relations with the 2% of decent types out there.
