Some people are upset because TESO is like Skyrim at release with heavy story driven content and progression because they expect a game like Skyrim with the plethora of add on packs after release that allow more open ended exploring?
I bought Skyrim on release day, after escaping Helgen I spent 20+ hours just wandering the world exploring no add on packs just me my character and the world. The best part of ES for me is the freedom I have, I spent 20+ hours without doing a single quest and my character was just as powerful as if I had spent the whole time questing. ESO does not offer freedom, it holds your hand and guides you, just because they place some quest giver off in a corner some where so you might stumble upon it doesn't mean they have exploration in the game.
Let me go and explore the entirety of the world right from the start, don't force me to go from quest hub to quest hub there are already way to many games that force this on us. ESO leaves me feeling like they captured a very tiny bit of Elder Scrolls spirit but in the end they left out the most important part IMO the freedom.
ESO is going to be kinda like that, but if you remember SKYRIM, you get out of Helena, and you go and you do a linar quest and get your dragon voice, then everything opens up from there. That's what I'm seeing here and even what the Dev says also, that
"you start out Linar with tutorial and early levels and then like all other ES games it opens up from there"

IN short : Linier is all low level and tutorial ONLY
"a lot like other ES games where its linar to get you started then opens up from there"
No I played for 20+ hours before I even did this, I didn't follow the guy down to town I went off on my own with my axe and shield and I explored, did I die sometimes.. yes but it was still an amazing feeling knowing I can go where ever I want.

Hmmmm. the Questline in SKYRIM gave you the BEST Skill in the game after you get up to the Dragon Voice ability part of the main storyline.
Prima games strat guide even suggest you go that far up into the storyline before breaking off on your own. You also got to remember, almost all these ES games has no penalty for passing up doing the storyline, and if you want you can always go back to it if you ever wanted to do it.
I am unsure if you can break off of the storyline before the tutorial or the intermediate area after that.
You have to remember most of that Linar content is a FRACTION OF THE GAME WORLD.
OP I have first hand experience of the game so forgive my bluntness is saying your continued ignoring opinions made by people with direct and personal experiences by cherry picking the ones you like and going "na na na" to the ones you don't like simply makes you come across as a tool as well as ignorant.
Mods this is a pointless thread, the only way the guy will shut up is if we gave information directly covered by the NDA so it seems his continued baiting is simply to troll people into getting bans by trying to shut him up with provable evidence.
I'm sorry you feel this way, but If I skip over some posts, and post on others its because I already addressed that post earlier in the thread. I don't think its contructive though to post one line hate the game stuff and say you have a NDA and cannot talk about it..
I think it would be more constructive to pull up videos and dev words and have a constructive discussion about things. IF that is too much to handle for anyone who holds an NDA, wait until the NDA is lifted and then come to the forums. Until then, we have a great amount of information that the company has been released and we can make a lot of opinions already on what has been released. Lets discuss that stuff, what you like, what you don't like. It would be more constructive till then.

The OP has a point. Most of the game content is non-linear like past ES games. It's whether players enjoy the leveled content or have the patience to endure it untill the world opens up to be explored in anyway you like.
In past ES games it was within 5 minutes. That won't be the case in this instalment.

Lol who cares what a strat guide says.
The fraction of the game world that it happens to be in is what everyones first impression of the game will be, my first impression so far has left a terrible taste in my mouth.
Definatly fair enough. I know theres a lot who don't like the first Linar Parts that the DEV talks about. With that said, I have the view that I will level up while exploring what I can and doing the Linar part until after the game opens up after the intermediate part.
Like I said , the GAMEWORLD is MASSIVE. If I dint play the game because of the linar parts, I would end up ROBBING myself of 3/4 of the GMEWORLD that is not Linier just because I wouldn't want to do the TUTORIAL or the INTERMEDIATE AREA which is ONLY Linier there for NEW PLAYERS to get education on the game before being released on the world.
That's just my thoughts, but I understand your dislike for the first part of the game and think its a valid point. Maybe could ask ESO to add A feature to ESC The Linar starting areas. They have been pretty responsive to input like that.

I look forward to the end of the NDA where we can freely talk about the game rather then selective stuff the the guys trying to make money have released so far. Or better still, get into beta and see for yourself.
No I am dead serious, and I will stand by these words well after release, years into playing ESO when it comes out.
A more realistic translation might be:
No I am dead serious, and I will stand by these words well after the early free to play conversion, well after all the server merges, and well after the Zenimax team is hit by layoffs.
"Server merges"......you could at least be an informed hater.

I understand that, I was simplifying it somewhat for ease of understanding, having specific creatures that you avoid at early levels is not the same as every area being designed for a specific level bracket as is the case in pretty much all themepark mmo's (including this one)
It's not really a themepark issue. It's a shared world issue. They can't take the Skyrim approach of enemies that level with you, because you aren't the only player in the world, and most of the enemies don't spawn just for you as you are walking by.

I do like the enemies level as you level in open world type games from an explorers perspective.
However, if it wasn't for a difficulty slider the combat really does fail IMO. I noticed it heavily in Skyrim, the more I leveled and spent points, the easier the game got. Even Bethesda noticed this as in the last patch I think they added a higher difficulty option.
I think the main reason Skyrim kept getting easier is because even though there was scaling, every monster type had a maximum level, so once your character had surpassed that level, most enemies start to get trivial.

It isn't a single player game. They can't program as if it were one. If a MMO has levels, then the leveling portion of the content has to have some degree of structure and linearity.

Locking this. Most of the recent posts are NDA-breaking and it's just going to take up way too much time in this one place if it were to continue that way.
If you want to discuss something about this game without breaking NDA, it's a good idea to have officially-released links and videos, otherwise giving opinions about the game or mentioning you've played beta are not allowed.

The order goes Tutorial, then a sort of Intermediate level to get you familiar with everything, then FULLY OPEN EXPLORING non-linar to 50 and beyond.
