Ahh well I was looking at the google doc. I dont bother with conspiracies I take what I can read and see and do what I can with it.
But if the numbers are hat low the only way theyre making money steadily over the past 3 years is if (multiple) people are sending them money every single day. Which is highly unlikely.
You do mean what you can read coming form CR is all true. Anyone else it isn't true right? You can't have it just one way. You need to dig for the truth on both sides. Right?
CR isn't accusing anyone for practicing a scam. You and the guy above are doing so. You need to back up your word and your claims.
I am still waiting for both you and jcrg99 to provide the info i asked for. Let's see how much worth your word has.
Ok. So here's something so we be more objective here:
This statement:
"The
game-as-described in the original crowdfunding campaign included
Squadron 42, regular community updates and an alpha multiplayer only."
It
was made by Chris Roberts recently in two occasions in similar form.
One, in his letter to The Escapist and previously, in the Letter of "I
am back" when he came back from the performance capture works on UK.
Is that statement true?
P.S. Just an addendum, but please does not focus on that, just answer the question, but its a fact that CR accused The Escapist, Derek Smart and many other backers and ex-employees of "scam".
I'm still waiting for that info where CR states that he needs 150 mil. for Squadron 42.
I'm still waiting for that info where CR states that he needs 150 mil. for Squadron 42.
Try harder.
Ah... ok.... You missed my answer probably. That was not the point of what I was stating yesterday. The "150 mil" cost was just a rough number that I heard Roberts saying in some place, I don't have the link. But the exact value was not the point... my point was another. And for that point, I shared the link (the Stretch Goals page of Star Citizen). I was talking about how was unfair people paying later for something already paid. So, the exact number does not matter, considering that 6 already paid for 2 single player campaigns, and people who contributed with more, unfairly, are not getting them for free, as the guys down below 6. That's why I told before that you and other guy were asking for an evidence of something that I was not trying to prove, actually or state as a fact. You got that out of context and dismissed my point, which pretty much, was an opinion. So, simply did not make sense to me, your asking for proof. Clear?
So, can't we move forward now? Please, answer my question made in the previous post, because NOW, I am not giving opinions. I am asking you something about a fact. So, please, answer me. I will appreciate your contribution for a mature and open-minded discussion.

Wow guys... you really should take a step back from your SC crusade. Even though it's still psychologically entertaining it makes me wonder if you have nothing else to do with your free time.
The hate is still strong and the anti SC propaganda machine is working as intended by the one who will not be named.
JCRG99/Manzes/Tufao... take your head out of HIS butt!

This thread has long since made the jump to Ludicrous Speed!
Both sides of this argument have pushed the other side into a corner and forced the other to take hard stands. The problem is, there are no facts, proof or irrefutable evidence. We have past behavior, we have circumstantial evidence countered by statements and discussions from those involved. Neither prove anything. Yet on one side we have the Nay Sayers who, while justified in their concerns, and can make an argument that past behavior is the best indicator of future behavior, it's still not proof that this project is doomed. It's one thing to say "There are set backs that will cost money" It's another to say "They don't have enough money." Do you know how much they have? What is likely, is not an absolute. Is there cause for concern? Hell yeah there is, but is it confirmed dead? No! Is there no chance this game will release? There still is. But you guys are talking as though this has been proven out already. It hasn't.
As for the fans. Come on now. As I just said, there is enough cause for concern to where those who are saying this project is in trouble aren't speaking stupidly. Maybe they are right....Maybe they aren't. But they aren't stupid for believing as they do. Frankly I am closer to believing this project is in trouble than I am in believing SC will release as promised. But I am still holding out for the possibility. Does that mean it's over? No! There is no proof of that. But what you guys call common sense is just blind faith. Yet you talk as though this game has been developed and just needs to be released. There are yet still a lot of major issues that still need to be overcome,
Circumstantial and anecdotal evidence is are not "facts". Blind faith is not "common sense" Everyone needs to reel it back in a bit.....no, a lot.

Indeed do that and see where I came from and why I chose this name. I know HIM a lot longer and better than you to know of his mental state. PERIOD
And just searching your names should give people a lot of background info who you are and why you switched sides so drastically. Harassing CIG staff didn't work so good... Did it?

Many different points were raised. They weren't about if the project is doomed or not. So, you are wrong in your analysis of the discussions. Nobody here is trying to "prove" that the project is doomed.
Roberts could be scamming everyone, and still the project be a massive success. Or Roberts could be total honest and the project ends to be a total failure. So, definitely, nobody can prove that the project is doomed, but can, give data of what the trend is, even that the trend is not set in stone. The big business of the planet today, our entire economies, are based on that, so the investors make their bets. So why CIG should be outside of such scope? Why only CIG have to be fully based on faith, while data exists?
And about such "data" is where the discussions are moving. Some people are denying the data. Trying to hide it. Or pretend that did not happen.
In other words, the discussions are about some specific points. Like the one that I am trying to make in my previous post, where I asked a question, but people are fleeing to answer my question. Isn't that odd?

As I read through this thread, I want to know what is the truth, but not necessarily what is most likely to happen. I already got that. I can tell you this. As I read through the arguments, I had to wade through an increasing amount of bull shit surrounding repetition of what was already said. Re-stating something "another way" to someone who has already blocked it out, doesn't do anything. The only thing that become irrefutable in this thread is the toxicity. My analysis has nothing to do with it. I've just began skipping over shit now. I wonder how many others are skipping over shit too.

What do you mean no one is saying that? Have you actually read this thread? or the many others around here? That very point has been raised time and time again, what else does the project being impossible to pull off mean?
Geezer is right, far too many hard stances have been taken in regard to this game, on both sides, when no one knows what will become of it. It's ridiculous.

The statements you linked were made in April of 2013 I would hope they arent relevant anymore. And the google doc numbers are at least semi accurate in some form. I know all about making up big numbers based on 'free as opposed to pay accounts. That is immaterial. I said they wouldnt be corollary based on that and other things. I was just looking at how they changed as each new benchmark in funding was reached.
As for the backing into a corner, well that happens. And it would be even more apparent if anyone had hard factual irrefutable evidence (on either side) to back up claims. The negatives have alot more ammunition because of the nature of the beast. CR made promises he couldnt keep, no one can deny that. The REASONS and subsequent backlash based on those reasons is what people are getting up in arms about.
I have said it from day one, they will release SOMETHING. The more I see however the 'worse' I think that something is going to be. I am borderline thinking they wont even be able to release half of the ships they have sold j pegs for. Which IMO they should HAVE to release at a 100% rate. Meaning if they sold it (they can argue semantics in court) and dont deliver every ship in game that they sold a picture of they should be sued. Again that is unlikely because suing people costs money and even though there is supposedly a lot of money there wot be after law suits and then once they file for bankruptcy there wont be any. Thats why these conmen never have any real worries, especially when they start out under a legit' premise like kickstarter. Which is why I say I hope against hope that it is a total crater job and nothing new s released ever and the flame out is so horrendous no kicksterter ever gets backed again and basically force people with an idea to invest something of their own into it (besides time)
The question is if we should take you serious JCRG99. Sadly you made some wild and false claims that HE presented you and you behaved very irrational in the past. You spammed every SC topic on several sites spreading false information and you were HIS propaganda tool. That you have been banned on several sites should just be a side note but still mentionable.
HE isn't that interested in you anymore as his tool because his spread rate is still high.
So in my opinion you should first build up your public reputation with claims you can prove so people will take you serious again maybe. Even if your tone has changed and is not as aggressive as before, it is still not enough imho.
As I read through this thread, I want to know what is the truth, but not necessarily what is most likely to happen. I already got that. I can tell you this. And that's the reality of this.
That is a silly wish. You want to know the truth if the project is doomed or not. It's impossible to give you this information. What can be done is to give data and discuss data and you make your bets. Simple. Real life.
I think that your opinion is shit actually. I am just saying it because you decided to call any discussion here as shit. So I am returning the favor. Your attitude is not less toxic of others that you accuse of toxicity. You want to make people stop to talk, just because you don't want to hear. Don't assume that what you want, is what everyone wants. Who are you? Darth Vader? The Emperor? Just ignore if you don't want to be part of such "silly" discussions.
Ignore the data all that you want. That is your choice. And claim that there are evidences that are refutable, all them, well... I am still waiting to see someone refute an evidence. That's why I brought that question.
And I am not "re-stating" anything. I am just asking a fucking question now that people are refusing to answer. Why?
You forget that there are not only the whales and cult members that buy anything, there are also a huge number of speculators that buy limited ships to sell on the grey market ships. This grey market is where most of these ships are waiting for whales to snatch them up because they are rare.
Yes but that doesnt account for the STEADY days. There arent any that I saw (I didnt put it under a microscope) where I didnt see at least 20K a day coming in. 20K a day is HUGE. And that is the minimums I saw. Since 'rare' ships are supposed to be rare, the premise youre making, and I can get with. You would think they would sell out quickly and from all reports they do.
Now (speculation time) are they selling these rare ships to people on the sly? To make 25K a day they would have to sell 10 2500 ships. everyday for the past 3 years. Or 500 50 dollar ships. EVERY SINGLE DAY, to keep that number steady. I just dont believe it. Them making a million a day here or there is way more believable than them STEADILY grinding out 20+k a day every day (with those HUGE days also mixed in) over the course of the 3 years or so that doc represents. They were getting 50+ K a day ,mst of 2014, they didnt have the 20K days until June of this year those seemed to have lasted a couple months but there has been an increase in 'bigger' days since Oct.
So I just dont get it. The document is set up so you can see where the big days coincide with 'sales'or resales or introductions of new ships or versions, also correlated with new vif releases or updates to something. But there are stretches where there is nothing being said or done and theyre still pulling in that kind of money? just doesnt make sense.
Maybe that 20k a day comes from them helping to launch a crowdfunding platform with backers money. The money they promised would only go into development of SC
Although that is more recent so not sure about the earlier years unless they have been putting money into other ventures.
Ok guys. Stop the deflection. Answer the question (if you are not interested, please do not derail the discussion, just ignore, thanks):

You don't need to choose what people should or not discuss based in your wishes.
I get it. You are not interested in the discussions. So, avoid them. Let them for those interested on talking about specifics.
I don't think that its ridiculous. Well... sometimes I think... but I don't jump on people and say: "Oh, idiot, don't discuss that. It's ridiculous".
That's just your opinions. You could all be wrong.
IF it were a simple matter of "discussion".. there really wouldn't be an issue in my eyes, it's the hard-line attitudes associated with it that I find ridiculous.

I never claimed not to support SC and CR's vision. Neither did I claim that everything he said is true nor that some criticism towards the project is unnecessary. I have my own worries but due to the small investment I made I will not cry if it fails. It was not needed money spend on something I love (Science Fiction Space games).
And I stand to my position that I know the roots of some false claims and propaganda methods used to lure uninformed people onto the hate-train. There are so many similarities to this:
I also chose my side (while trying to be objective which we all know is not as easy as it really is) because I experienced HIS work and "Snake in a Suit" methods in the past. Therefor I wanted to warn people. It seemed to work because he almost never posted after our "clash" in this forum.
And what you claim an attack by CIG was more defending and securing. The attack shots had been fired long before that if you do your research. And the shots were not fired by CIG.
End of story... criticism in an appropriate manner is necessary due to control mechanisms but generating hate and being anti just because it supports someone's kind of life is narrow minded in my opinion.
Completely white-knighting is also narrow minded... just to be clear. I do not support that.
I just get attacked because I dont think 'bad project management' means devcing investors on purpose

It was made by Chris Roberts recently in two occasions in similar form. One, in his letter to The Escapist and previously, in the Letter of "I am back" when he came back from the performance capture works on UK.
Is that statement true?

I do not support that.
what I am saying is very binary.
He very well maybe deciving people in all maters of area but when someone says:
'he is being deceeptive BECAUSE he is late' I take issue with that. its the BECAUSE which connects the former to the later directly.
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
