Notice we were talking about biotech startups Erillion. Try to actually address what I said as opposed to talking about something else that had nothing to do with our original back and forth, unless you like looking like a fool.

wait..the rules magically apply different because its a biotech and because of that different rule there is no way to walk the logic back to a mural in SC office in the first place?
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
Do you guys think MMORPG itself is a shill for SC? It seems a lot of the threads that have a negative viewpoint on SC get closed. I know the mods here are white knights due to how many times ive been warned about stuff when clearly the shills on here aren't getting the same treatment. Really makes you think how deep the paid peon thing goes with that recent insider post.

no actually I think the critics of SC are actually paid consulants of SC because of all the attention it creates makes more people (rather than less people) curious about what all the trolling is about and as a result takes a look at the game.

So are we only allowed to use biotech companies now to show how ridiculous the idea is that you guys keep putting forward?
Because that is your best argument right?
Startup biotech companies might not have nice reception area's and paintings on the wall that means a start-up game design company most definitely shouldn't.....that is the straw you are clutching onto right?

Biotech companies, especially startup biotech companies have trouble affording equipment and materials needed to do the research they want to do. So yes the rules do "magically apply different" because its biotech. I would be extremely pissed off if I invested in a biotech startup and found they wasted some of my money on making the lobby or office look pretty when they should be spending it on the actual research.

but thanks for the random factoid. i should look into my biotech funds

To be honest, your link shows the lobbies and most of them are from established companies like Google, Pandora and Kaspersky. Those lobbies were made from profit of existing products and not players money. The OP is showing murals on the wall in the office where only workers see if I am correct. Kind of apples and oranges to me but then when you have a company like CIG that is created solely on customer money before a product is released, what do you compare it to?

No my argument is that company's shouldn't be spending money on un-needed things until they are actually producing a profit and have a product out. As an example I seriously doubt Blizzard was spending money on decorating the office in lost Viking art before they even shipped the game because if it bombed then a huge waste of money and not a very good risk.
Star Citizen is a different beast because of how it is raising funds but I, personally, still don't agree that they should be spending money on things not needed for game development.

Actually I was responding to Erillion's post about the biotech industry and his obvious lack of knowledge about it, which relates to spending of money they don't have.

1. biotech is not related to SC unless you can draw some logical path back to it. 2. biotech is and has been in a booming stage and has just as much VC captial if not more than tech companies so there is that problem as well

1) Go back to page 8 to see the first comment posted about biotech. 2) Biotech is recovering after crashing hard due to people throwing money at the companies and then them never producing any actual products. Not arguing your number 2 just adding some background. 3) Lets get back on topic shall we
There are many examples of crowdfunded games releasing without the agreed-upon features, ED being one. That doesn't mean the feature won't be delivered ever. The milestones are no more of a promise than a crowdfunded game is. If they need to cut features in order to release SOME game, then I'd suggest they cut features.
I think that once Star Citizen releases (or doesn't), the term "White Knight" will be associated with people being logical. I find it hilarious how it's thrown around so freely. It's a lot like the term P2W. So, if by "White Knight" you mean logical, then I'm also a White Knight.

You are 100% sure no private investors are on board?
I'm sure there are however, compared to the players 110 million I am also sure the amount invested by private investors is trivial in comparison. On a side note, wouldn't private investors be the exact thing that CR hoped to avoid? Not having anyone to answer to or hold him back like a publisher or group of investors? Investors can often be very vocal about how their money is used and when they expect to see a profit.

Yep I remember years ago and getting involved with my first ever crowdfunded company. I'm so glad I did because we all know Cisco has done a lot of great things for all of us.

lol You have game developers spreading shit about a rival wanting to gain access to their financials etc and you have shitload of KS donators who all think they are owed a say on how to design a game and complaining that a 110 million dollar project should take the same time as a 2 million dollar project. I doubt having private investors would really be an issue.

Why do you think a company would be so stupid as to do anything even remotely approaching releasing any of their data?
