Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
Needing to aim is the least issue I have with the game. What is up with the way females run in this game?! Seriously...who the hell runs like that? I know it is an anime thing...but the good anime's do not have characters run like that. So why do we have to have it in our MMO's?! It looks terrible...terrible enough that it will cause me not to play it. That type of running we saw in L2 and it helped drive me away from the game - not just the grind - but the stupid run animation. As long as they keep that in...forget it.
You stopped playing a game because of a run animation? Please leave.
the hackers are always one step above, there is no way to trion detect this kind of 3º party program and enforce the law, sad but true. The "Kid" part is because u are fooling urselves believing in this unknow company.
It's surprisingly easy to scan for memory alterations provided the user grants open permission. You have yet to introduce a single piece of factual information but rather half-assed speculation. It's incredibly frustrating to read this dribble, clearly you have no idea how such programs operate.
you are right i have no ideia, but its a fact that korean designed games doesnt have a "justice hammer" at all... this game will have tons of bots, exploits and hackers and due to lack of subs they will not ban a single soul. I have no doubt of that as i have no doubt this game will fail.. but its just me ranting right?
Please explain what you mean by "Justice Hammer" I would assume you mean they will not ban suspected botters. In which case such responsibility is in the hands of the publisher, not the developer. Tera could be developed in Nicaragua for all I care. So long as En Masse provides an active stance when it comes to EULA violations I will be happy. But stating that a game developed in Korea will fail is just bigoted, nonsensical jibberish.
And yes, this is just you ranting.
this game has a "heavy korean spirit" .i.e take a look at lineage dark elves and then take look on the horned girl. Then type hentai on google.
I think it goes without saying Tera Online will have no tentacle rape. Now, if you take issue with a cartoon rendition of a scantily clad woman that is your beef.
AoC has a similar option (turn off automatic facing) which makes it so you actually have to pay attention which way your caracter is facing when swinging his weappon. wile you dont have to actually aim (fps style) in AoC you have to keep facing your opponent in order to hit him for full damage wile he can use double taps to dash away from your cone of damage to avoid damage. if your opponent is behind you he receives no damage if he is besides you he only takes glancing damage. AoC also has collision detection.
i'm thinking that Tera will be very similar to this. there wont actually be a crosshiars like FPS ( or DF) but more then likely there will be a cone of damage in front of your character especially for mele characters. also as far as i can tell there will be some AoE spells and probably some directional cone effects ans what not.
wile i'm all up for the challance of this i will say that a sub par internet connection makes these sort of games really frustrating since any sort of lag really screws up all your efforts for proper positioning and timing. this is one of the major reasons why i stopped playing AoC.
Tera WILL have crosshair aiming and I had no problem melting faces in AoC. The connection issue may have been on your end my friend.
I really like the action orientated combat mechanics.
Having said that, i'm less than psyched to see how this will play out in large battles.
To reduce lag, i've decided to play a melee class and not a ranged but i'm sure that latency will affect gameplay, moreso than the traditional due to the absence of mob targeting.
I can only dread how ranged classes will have to put up with the latency.
I suppose i would encounter my fair share of latency induced problems even as a warrior.
People can deny lag will hurt free targeting systems all they want. Not everyone has super fast internet connections. And the people with higher ping will have an advantage in PVP. The game does look like alot of fun. But I wouldn't use the word innovative, maybe evolutionary for an mmo but not innovative.
The combat system is a cross between Ninja Gaiden and Gauntlet 3D.
Their animations is what has me really excited. Damn Bluehole has some sexy animators don't they lol. Do they use the same animation tools as 2k Sports? When I first played a 2K sports game. I was like holy crap, this is pretty life like. Wtf has EA been doing the last 5 years?
Seriously though. Watch some videos on their monster AI and animations. The mobs don't sit there lifeless like they do in most other mmo. I don't doubt the game will have fun combat. I am on a wait and see for the rest of the game. The crafting, story, among other stuff. If they truly succeed in westernizing Tera. This game is going to be the surprise of the decade and have a big playerbase. If they do mediocre at westernization. Then it will be just another Korean Grinder.
I suppose u meant "lower" ping? The lower the ping the faster the data-packets reach the server and the earlier the server sends out the results - in worst case as the data of the higher ping is still on it's way to the server - being neglected as they arrive.
Again just too funny....I never said that autoaim was more skillful....I was pointing out the twitch elitists acting like the playstyle they prefer is way more skill intensive and therefore must mean its 'better' someone being better at a twich based game is just that...Good Job you are better at a twiched based game....which means....o yeah NOTHING.
Furthermore the LAZY comments are just too funny.....pretty sure you are sitting in a comfy chair MAYBE moving your fingers a little faster than mine?....Good job you are a super active non-lazy gamer....I am very impressed.
And to the guy comparing twich based gaming to Soldiers on a battle field....again good job....you are far from a soldier or have the skills of a real soldier....get a grip.
We will have to see how they implement the targeting aspect of combat, but such targeting systems are open to things like bunny hopping and the like. Also speed hacks can hurt the system. Have to wait and see how well their anti exploit system works.
Personally I like a game without auto targeting, it is a more skill based system. While some of you dismiss auto targeting as being for lazy gamers, it was implemented more to control exploits than it was for ease of use. Two early games that had auto targeting, UO and AC1, had significant problems with the pvp aspects of their game because of this very design.
Not sure how they are implementing it, but in both UO and AC1 you had to be careful of friendly fire if you got in the line of fire of a friendly player. Anyone know if this is the case with TERA?
So we will just have to wait and see how it is implemented.

There is no friendly fire and there is no advantage in jumping while fighting (bunny hopping) in tera because you cannot use your skills while jumping.
Auto-targeting is an out dated mechanic that needs to go the way of the dynosaurs.
I'm really suprised you say you like manual-targeting games Ozmodan, I have seen you post alot in other sections hating against manual-targeting games. MMmmm something just does not jive here .

Google some of the pvp videos and you will see that bunny hoping is a non factor in this game.

Exactly, this guy makes no sense.

I really hope that this is a joke.

The more of this game I see, the more interested I am. It looks promising, I really want to beta test it.
Don't follow me, I don't know where I'm going

Why are all of you keep this thread alive anyway? Read the 1st post, for christ's sake..
thanks for helping
