I don't have an aversion to playing an anthropomorphic character. In EQ I spent a lot of time playing an Iksar (lizardman) monk and a Vah Shir (catman) beastlord. I don't have a fetish for them though. I wouldn't particularly care to socialize wi…
Most MMO's simply aren't hard to master. They have shallow learning curves, and tend to reward based on the amount of time played more than anything else. I think that's an intentional design decision made most most developers.
Anarchy Online ha…
I've played some failed MMO's like Tabula Rasa and Auto Assault that had little to no endgame content. Out of the successful MMO's, I'd say City of Heroes. I love that game, but there just isn't much to do once you hit level 50.
Hmm, those w…
Y'all are looking back on EQ through rose-colored glasses. The only reason EQ was fun for me was because I played a monk, which meant I was the puller in groups, which in turn allowed me to dictate the pace at which we killed mobs. In most dungeon…
Just make an action MMO, and then region-lock it. Give those crazy Koreans their own servers.
Exactly what they already do with action MMO's like Dungeon and Fighter, Mabinogi Heroes, etc.
I must be the only person who has never played a Call of Duty game, so it was awfully nice of the folks at Steam to put together a bundle deal just for me.
Picked up the CoD bundle, the GTA 4 expansions, Red Faction Guerrilla, and Thief Deadly Sh…
I haven't played in over a year, so I don't know what the grouping situation is like now. It used to be very easy to find groups though. And CoH is the most solo-friendly MMO I've ever played.
I did that for SWG and Auto Assault, and was terribly disappointed. I refuse to get excited about any more upcoming MMO's.
I am hopeful about SWTOR though...

There is a third group of players who like FFA PvP, but aren't griefers. They pretty much play like carebears, but they enjoy being in a PvP environment. It makes their activities more exciting knowing that another person might jump them at any ti…

EQ1 is still worth playing if you are willing to buy an end game toon on e-bay and then put in the time to learn how to play it. It will take years of solo grinding in a game that …
Eh, console gaming. I don't care. I have the impression though that current PS3 and 360 owners aren't interested in dancing games and petting sims, and it's going to take a lot to coerce the casual crowd who already own Wii's to drop more cash on …

Folks might be able to steer you in the right direction if you give a little info on what you're looking for in an MMO. For example, why did you stop playing WoW?
I've simply grown less patient with MMO's. I started playing EQ at release, and spent inordinate amounts of time in that game just waiting. Waiting for mobs to spawn, waiting for the boat, waiting for the other raiders to arrive and get organized,…
All other things being equal, DoT's are not as desirable as DD's. The longer the duration of the DoT, the less desirable it becomes. A DoT has to be given some other advantage to make it more desirable, such as a higher damage/mana ratio or a debu…
