As of yet there are no plans for expansion, the IDEAS of naga/bloodelves/pandaran ect HAVE been brought up, but no plans for them getting added. The new battlegrounds coming up soon are Icy, if that's where your misinformed friend got the idea.

Also if you have a half decent tank in your group, the scrapper WILL stick to him like glue, because they will have aggro, granted, some people try and make "tanksters" but that still doesn't mean you can forget provoke/taunt and your AE armour.
