Houses don’t drop off raid bosses, that’s their modern problem.
Seriously though, housing goes along with the concept of creating things in the world, and having the players shape it as they see fit. It’s part of the Sandbox model, not the grind…
Does Blizzard have the money to make a good Sandbox? Of course they do.
The real problem they face is that they have no developers who can appreciate the original concept of the MMO genre. If they weren't creating an Everquest grinder, they woul…
Are levels a broken concept?
If personal character achievement is your idea of an MMO, then no, levels work quite well.
If an interactive social world is your idea of an MMO, then personal character achievement in the form of levels just gets in…
My PC does what I want it to, end of story.
I'll most likely dual boot Linux in the future, with whatever version of Windows I happen to like. Currently on WinXp.
Permadeath?
That depends on if your MMO is an Everquest Grinder, or a UO Sandbox. Obviously the only thing you care about in the Grinder is your own character achievement. So such a death would be catastrophic, erasing months of work and removing …

Who knows what your playing, but for one that doesn’t like grinding, your in the wrong market, it seems. There is absolutely a level of grinding in every mmo game, though I’dlike to know of one wher…
I played UO eight years ago, and the arguments used here against it are just plain stupid.
You want epic loot? Go play WoW. If you lost your precious items in UO you just visit a blacksmith and have him craft you new items. You didn’t waste months…
I don’t care how you label your MMO, “next gen” to me means the feature set is superior, not the graphics. I want substance, and hardware requirements are an entirely separate matter.
It’s up to the developer to decide how many players they want, …
It would be nice if someone took a bunch of good ideas, and applied a meaningful budget to produce them. Where Darkfall might never have the production quality required to thrive, perhaps Mortal Online can succeed.
Instances take the Massive out of MMO, there’s your answer.
Why should I talk to you when you’re not part of my private guild that runs their private raids/instances? You want to get strangers to talk to and rely on each other, then you put major …
I do not agree with the bounty / jail solution, though maybe it'll work out.
What was wrong with Ultima Online's solution of both criminal for the short term and the murderer mark for the long term?
I will wait a month or two. Long enough for people to decide if it's worth subscribing or not. Then the pervailing wind will guide me, although I am awfully tempted to try it out because I'm dying for an alternative to WoW.
