Ashamed or not, I'll admit that I definitely got that feeling with RuneScape Classic and the RS2 but not really with any other game. I still get that feeling too when I return to RuneScape from time to time.
Sorry to say it but we will never see the SWG crafting system ever again. Istaria however has a very in-depth crafting system if you're willing to give it a try.

Perfect World is kinda anime but you may like it. Its actually not too bad but its an Aisan game, so all the names are Hing Chow and stuff like that. But otherwise, as a game to take your mind off things and that is F2P, its pretty nice.
Most, if not all MMOs have the option to be a warrior or some kind of character that uses fighting skills. I find it hard to believe that you cannot find a game with the most emphasis on adventuring.

Are elitist games now and the future? Yes. Most every new MMO that comes out is catering to the younger players that are playing games such as WoW, RuneScape, etc.
