It would help if we had clear answers to simple questions. Notice that those defending Chris's decision are the ones who put out the false excuses. Yet noone is able to clearly say why it wasn't launched like he said. He did say 5 weeks and it appears they successfully integrated it about 4 months later but they never launched it.
It would help if we had clear answers to simple questions.
Go ask them, nobody has a specific answer here side of speculation, if that matters so much to you to be obsessed with an answer to that question, send an email to CIG demanding answers to the questions you feel entitled to answers.

However for me this is not about answers, is about internet forum drama. Keep on beating the dead horse again and again and again and again and again.
Yea because asking a simple question which first got a bunch of bullcrap for answers. Then trying to hash through what part is bullcrap and what part is truth really messed up everything. I guess its easier to praise CIG then ask hard questions.
Reading about this game on different sites, the official site, it is actually very entertaining. Been a long time where a game makes you want to run to sites to see what is new that is going on.
I do take a few things away after reading up on the game.
1. Most important fact to me is the game when playing on the free weekends, it is clearly not even close to releasing. 2. Listening to Roberts gets confusing at times, more so when watching a few of his videos in one sitting. To me there is a lot of double speak. 3. I see a lot of double speak on here and other sites. that in itself sends up a lot of red flags. So I do understand why people keep pointing out the problems with the game. 4. I understand why some defend the game they clearly love and want to play. 5. It shocks me and am sure others how much some have spent on the game and it is hard to imagine why. It just goes to the unbelieveable. Think that also brings up more questions than answers. 6. Most important to me is why some keep warning and saying there is major problems with the game. Gamers have always been upfront and outspoken when coming to games. Heck it even went on way back with games like Doom. Just now there is more media and ways to bring it out.
Can't wait for Gamescom just to see where the next chapter takes us.
Sometimes it's not always about what you can see or hear but what's under the hood of a game that's most impressive. Between those thousands and thousands of lines of code, magic happens. Sometimes the most amazing feats of gaming wizardry happen without you even noticing.
Even when the game is released there will ultimately be no shortage of people telling us that it isn't released.
The way this goes, Star Marine will release and some people will keep posting threads like this. Let's discuss why SM did not release on 2015 after SM releases, until the day we die!
This already reached the point of one un-healthy obsession.

Except that tenthousands of questions have been asked. Many of them also "hard questions".
And devs have answered thousands of them (see corresponding link and thread in this subforum).
Even the CEO has answered (at least) 850 questions in detail (85 Episodes of Ten for the Chairman) See this (with search filters): http://www.scqa.info/

So first people make up stuff to answer the OP. Then they realize there is no answer so they just say heh why bother. I figured this would be important because aren't you hyped over Star Marine? Wouldn't you like to know why it was delayed 14 months past their projected delivery date? Unhealthy-excuses is what I keep getting. Which is why this thread has went to where it is. People give explanations and they just don't add up. So instead of eating the pie and smiling I point out the fact that the pie is full of shit.
Bah! I could completely live without walking around in this game. I liked the core concept. I don't *mind* the addition if it makes the overall game experience better but I just think it should have been shelved and developed later.

To many projects going on at once. It's difficult enough to produce one game.

a) Hyped for Star Marine? Not really. Hyped for more and better FPS mechanics and features on the PU? Hell yeah!
b) I wouldn't care about knowing or not, it doesn't make me any more or less happy. Why? Because it changes nothing on the present knowing specifics and details that lead to its constant delays.
I'm sorry, but i don't share your obsessive behavior towards this matter... Feel free to keep creating threads like this and copy/paste the same posts over and over again.

They are being pressured to release SM, as all this drama train keeps going on. However once they do, they have yet another release to maintain side-by-side developing the Persistent Universe and Squadron 42.
Every single alpha they release this days, usually cause issues on AC because they are focusing on the PU, and they are always having to dedicate time and effort to fix AC every single time. I'm afraid this might also happen with SM.
Yes, please do. Also, don't forget to charge back any purchase that you're unhappy with. In the end, it goes towards improving society and improving honesty and fairness.

They are being pressured? By who? Remember they went without a publisher so they wouldn't need to be pressured. are you telling me they are taking pressure from fans now? Does that mean that even the die hard fans are starting to ask questions as to why this was delayed for so long?

hahaha They are being pressured by this whole drama some people like to push on surrounding SM.
Even though the majority of the backers of this game clearly does not care about SM being delayed or not with being able to play FPS on the alpha already.
Even though they are set to release it soon, for me those "some people" i mentioned will just find something new to complain about. The Drama Llama must go on. For all eternity.

They are feeling pressure to do what they said they were gonna do. I mean how many times did Chris mention Star Marine when pitching the game and seeking more money. So they will launch Star Marine which they already tried to cancel. Then they claimed its already out then they had to make everyone feel better and say they will continue to work on it.
The only pressure they have is to deliver the best game possible, that's a pressure that they gladly putted on themselves. Nobody in CIG is there to play around, they are there because they want to make the BDSSE and that's exactly what they are doing.
A pure unadulterated PC Master Race no holds barred Game so detailed and complex that will overshadow everything gaming for years to come.
What year will it come out though Babuinix? Looks like CIG might be the last people to market with their space game. The longer they take the more they will have to redo as it won't be state of the art anymore, it might even be 'yesterday's tech'.
The games industry isnt exactly standing still waiting to get handed it's ass.
By the time SC gets released, Elite will have had 2-3 full SEASONS of content, NMS will have had major upgrades, Andromeda will be out and expanded on, plus the 10 games we don't even know about yet will have been released.

Maybe in Canada you have to bend over and take it in the ass, and you are used to that, but in the US, pre-release software can ALWAYS be charged back. It is by definition, an incomplete product.
And lol at "honesty and fairness", honesty and fairness is doing what you say, when you say you will. SC is how long past its supposed release date? That alone is enough for chargeback, as is missing features that were advertised, of which there are several at this point.
So, charging back in regards to SC is fully legitimate at this point, no matter how much you boosters wish it was not.

I gotta say that's a pretty shaky corporate structure if they are feeling pressured by some internet drama. I mean Chris did create the drama cause he can't stop running his mouth but again they didn't go with a big publisher to avoid being pressured into doing things. So why do they feel pressure unless it's because they realize even the hardcore fans are starting to smell the bs?

Hey now! We Canadians can be quite forceful when we want to be! We will just apologize while we do it lol. Charge backs are completely legal in Canada and CIG's TOS doesn't hold water if certain clauses were to be challenged in Canadian court

No, the pressure of this drama campaigns that are meant to keep SM as an ongoing drama, everywhere, from random internet forums as this, to social media and gaming media. It's meant to make it look that this is a massive player outrage against CIG because of SM or something. lol
On the actual Backer Community of the game, it's clear that the big majority of the backers are not bothered by SM not being released yet. In fact, i see people (including me) bothered is in how CIG has dealt with the whole SM delays situation, the communication was just awful and dragged an situation they could have been upfront from the start.

SM is an ongoing drama because CIG has dealt with it in the crappiest way possible. When different people in the company keep saying different things and don't release any info that is useful then people should be asking questions.
The backer community is on the same page as everyone else, they want to know why the hell CIG isn't just upfront with what happened. Since they aren't then the "drama" as you call it is just people calling CIG out on the bullshit they have been saying for so long

LOL politicians say that all the time! I love when they go majority of Americans are against this or that. Yet nothing to back that up. You're not a politician are you.
