Sorry you don't understand exactly what I been saying. How can people make their own opinions about the game when they are attacked by people like you. Again you are arguing we should all agree with the views you hold with the game. Yet if anyone else gives their opinion that you disagree with then we have to read an attack by you for why we or them are wrong. Like I said people like you are hurting the future game more than anyone else is.
Wow now you're just letting your bias speak against me. Attacking the persons is different than attacking the points and arguments (that's part of discussion), as i get attacked for making a point by angry people that do not care to use any arguments to counter the point. As it did happen (and you conveniently ignore). If i am giving my opinion and view i should put it as one, otherwise i am just relaying and basing myself of information that i know about the game or its development. Again the it is not opinions or views, it's when they are posted as facts.
I am not attacking people for having different opinions, i am attacking the opinions by them being posted as facts when they are not, get your facts straight!
At this point it seems you are just trying to open a tunnel of direct attacks directed against me with your bias calling for attempting to justify everybody else's behavior while playing the moralist role. So please save me preaching and let's stop this discussion before it turns aggressive, if you have a problem then use the forum ignore function (via profile i think).
People can very well make their own opinions of the game Star Citizen is without participating on random internet forum dramas. Again using expensive sentences for the sake of playing the moralist role...

See you attack for my opinion. Clearly I wouldn't want to play a game with people like you in it (my opinion).
How the heck can anyone make an opinion on the game when we all know people like you will comeback with exactly this. You are wrong only opinion you want is what opinion you have on the game. How the heck can you attack a fact when even Roberts keeps changing the facts. Amazing!
Sometimes it's not always about what you can see or hear but what's under the hood of a game that's most impressive. Between those thousands and thousands of lines of code, magic happens. Sometimes the most amazing feats of gaming wizardry happen without you even noticing.
1. Chris says SM will launch in 3-5 weeks. Logical people assume he has been playtesting it and is doing some polishing in order for the launch. When that was completely untrue.
2. So then we wonder why and they come up with the fact that the core code couldn't be integrated. Then a logical person wonders why this is even possible considering that SM was "suppose" to provide core functions of the entire game.
3. Then they claim to have successfully integrated everything about 4 months later. Logical person allows such because problems do happen. Then logical person wonders why they didn't launch SM like they said they were going to. I mean 2 months later isnt that bad.
So when the logical person cannot get straight answers they assume lies are being told in order to cover something up.

Attacking your opinion? You're being personal directly at me instead, if said "you're ugly and you smell bad" i kinda could be stating my opinion at the same time attacking you, it doesn't justify it. Once again you're talking about opinions, i'm talking about facts, when opinions are posted as facts most specifically, that was what i was on about.
Anyway people's posts have started to being deleted from the thread so not a good idea to continue this.
@MaxBacon see I can't get a real response to any comment I make without you delivering what you think, believe, whatever. I'm done, just not possible to get anything but what you believe and want me or others to believe.
Don't get me wrong I value all opinions, just I disagree with yours. So it means I need to move on and forget this game. Oh and I also disagree with some of the facts you try and present.
So in conclusion only opinions facts that are true are yours and everyone else's are wrong. Also I read facts Roberts has said and then later changed those facts. Over 2 weeks of reading up on this game and that is exactly what am coming away with. Right now my feeling is I will never waste one penny on this game even if it does release one day. All because of facts that I have read that have changed from month to month!

"Logical people" would probably do some research into the gaming industry before drawing any kind of conclusion.
Obviously, that's not what you've been doing - so you're not part of this "logical" group.
I don't know why a logical person would speculate based on having no actual knowledge about game development, so again - you're not being logical by doing so.
Trying to make the upcoming SM release the same as having "integrated everything" doesn't sound logical to me. In fact, it sounds like something an ignorant person with no experience with game development would assume.

Omg you are completely twisting it. Everybody has opinions, in here as any community you have people with complete opposite views on the same matter saying the other is the wrong on, that is the deal. There are not right or wrong opinions.
When we talk about facts, info that comes from the company or its developers, that is indeed factual info, yet we can still grab that and spin it on a thread with example, a partial quote, different understandings of the same thing that was said and similar situations that just contribute to mis-inform people, like using the same answer of CR back earlier this year to claim "SM has been cancelled", yet on the next paragraph he clarifies it.

And we are back to the you don't understand game development so you don't understand SC. You don't need a degree to understand that if someone says its 5 weeks out then they should be putting the finishing touches on it and not delaying it by over a year.
Perhaps you you should take a good hard look at CIG cause clearly they don't understand game development if they are saying 5 weeks but they really mean 15 months

Problem there is that if someone says they've done research in the game industry, it will just be denied.
Those folks will accept that Erillion has talked to a number of CIG designers who were super enthused about the project. (Which I do as well. Probably those Magic Germans) When someone says they've talked to 10 people who worked with Roberts and those folks pretty uniformly said that he was a poor innovator (outside of immersion), and a terrible project manager, that will be denied. Of course, both could be true. Bias slants even the consideration of this.
There's good reason to look at CIG's actions over the last 4 years and be worried. But those that want to BELIEVE, will accept the company spin as gospel. Despite the continual revision of that gospel. Which makes me wonder why they keep on making pronouncements that they can rarely back up. They've got two conventions to show more stuff, and maybe they'll have a convincing argument to explain their various SM missteps. I expect more of the same....missteps that is.
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

No when the TOP DOG says something that should negate all speculation. Or shouldnt it?
If I go to a store and have to order something they dont have in stock and the owner of the company tells me they will have it in 3 weeks I wouldnt expect to go back 15 months later and they still dont have it. I surely wouldnt need to research anything at all related to the product or the time it takes fr said product to be delivered because all of that is superseded by the person giving me a timetable.
Your whole argument is completely invalid because one would also assume that Chris Roberts understands what you want other people to 'research' themselves. Thus that research SHOULD be totally unnecessary since he knows what he is talking about and that research should be inherent in any statements from ANY person who is DIRECTLY involved with the project. Let alone the lead guy.
But once again the arguments from the supporters continue to highlight the total dysfunction of these guys (CiG) because they pinpoint whats wrong with most of them with these back handed nonsense comments which shows that theyre expecting a layman to do exactly what these guys involved either dont know themselves either or havent figured out yet.
What year will it come out though Babuinix? Looks like CIG might be the last people to market with their space game. The longer they take the more they will have to redo as it won't be state of the art anymore, it might even be 'yesterday's tech'.
The games industry isnt exactly standing still waiting to get handed it's ass.
By the time SC gets released, Elite will have had 2-3 full SEASONS of content, NMS will have had major upgrades, Andromeda will be out and expanded on, plus the 10 games we don't even know about yet will have been released.
Squadron 42 will most likely release in 2017 , Star Citizen a couple of years later.
As "competition" Star Citizen fears no one. Elite is a small niche game and that will never change. It will just keep releasing small meaningfull updates (power play, horizons, engineers) to cater to the space trucking old-timers. NMS just released and already accomplished and unthinkable feat. To beat Elite in the Most Boring Space Sim Ever Award.
COD: Infinity, Mass Effect: Andromeda and whatever big publishers can think of will fall short, as they always do.
The only studio with the ability and adventurousness to rival CIG scope and ambition are Rockstar. Maybe they take GTA VI to space who knows.
Youre worng. I said it before SC is already dated and Elite is a working released game not promises and dreams. Whether they release 'boring' content or not it is still actual PLAYABLE content.
Now of course SC will make more money than them even without releasing because that is apparently the business model and a profitable one, but eventually they will have to release something. THEN we can debate it.
But as I have also said I dont think anyone really wants to play SC anyway. A brand new update to the tech demo which supposedly were going to add a lot of stuff and its the same 8 or 9 guys streaming it with the same 250-300 people watching them. Which has been the norm for the past 15 months.
The only time I saw a rise in streamers and viewers was the very first free weekend that coincided with an update and a bunch of free ships for players and even then it wasnt like alot of people were interested.
For a project that has raised a billion dollars and has a trillion followers it is the deadest game I have seen in my life. if it werent for this site and Smarts antics I dont thin anyone would give two shits about it.
No. YOU are wrong, like always. Elite is no competition for Star Citizen, it's strength supposedly is the flight model but nobody is playing their Arena mode, not even after they gave it for FREE (currently 6 players online). Elite is 2001 Space Odissey, Star Citizen is Star Wars.
What Star Citizen released is already more popular than Elite, that's why it has more concurrent players, more ships, more money etc. Few people don't want to download 30 gb for alpha. They want to wait for its completion and they play it without fusses. ATV Shows average around 100k viewers Elite players are around 10k per day. You know how many people watch Star Citizen official streams? over 20k easily. Ah and don't forget: 1.446.000.000 registered citizens in their website.
SC is nowhere near that popular, and it is nowhere near as good as Elite.
i am the target market for SC. I bought a PS4 for NMS, I play Elite on PC and next week am buying an Xbone so i can play it in the lounge. I play Evochron, Starpoint Gemini, Empyrion, Angels Fall First, Rebel Galaxy, Eve... I love space games. I spend a shit ton on them. They are my Thing.
Roberts said this in July of 2015. Then you wonder why people are so critical of the game and its development. My question is.. Why did Roberts think this was even possible? I mean you don't tell people a game mode will launch within the next 2 months when its not even remotely ready for such a thing. Its been over 14 months since that statement. Is he really that clueless or just spinning stuff to keep backers happy? I mean really can this be seen as anything other then a blatant lie?
He relies on what other People in his Company tell him.
So if the team responsible for the Star Marine module tell him they will have it working in two months and then don't deliver...... well, then Roberts has to explain for that.
Sadly, these things happen a lot.... everywhere to one degree and another. Hell, even Microsoft almost always missed their projected release dates in the past! That's why they now no longer give them and just announce it just 2-3 weeks in advance when a new product goes RTM.
I think Roberts has learned his leason since the Star Marine backlash last year, as since then he is not giving any hard release windows anymore. Except for Squadron 42, since he is more directly involved in that and a lot is at stake with that one.
Relies on other people to see if the game is near complete?
Are you serious?
You trying to tell us, that he would be oblivious to the game of his dreams? That he didn't even bother to play Star Marine to the extent of taking a conclusion that the game was or not near completion against the words from his own team?
Damn, the excuses people make for bad management and accountability...

Are you high? There are less than 120 people watching SC right now on Twitch.
ED has about 250. Not huge but still twice as many as SC if someone wanted to spin percentages
Those numbers are also going to be lower for both (although SC is pretty much stable because there are no 'casual' viewers or streamers of it) because of No Mans Sky PC release today.
As for the stream numbers I addressed those and you did exactly what people do when they are trying to make something look better they take numbers that are easily manipulated. As in the 20K views, that could be 10 guys clicking it 2000 times. Same as the registered 'citizens'. That is like when Blizzard used to say WoW had 20 million accounts or whatever. Or any FREE sign up making claims that ANY of those numbers matter. They dont.
I have watched No Man Sky streams or had them going in the background for the past 3 or 4 days not a SINGLE mention of Star Citizen. Plenty of other references to EvE and ED, Empyrion, even Ascent got a mention or two. And yeah I know people will say NMS is a single player game and not the audience for SC, but if so many people have signed up for SC and its such a huge phenomenon then there will be obvious crossover from people watching those streams and maybe asking for some possible comparisons. Like I said those other games got some mentions from peopel watching.
As for concurrent players I doubt more than 50 people play SC at any given time with MAYBE 1K total log ins a day (which would also include multiple log ins from the same individual person). It isnt popular at all in any way shape or form. Other than the money they have allegedly raised by selling ships and subs and t shirts or whatever else they hawk.
Like I said if it werent for all the controversies (we have another major one ongoing right now) this game wouldnt be getting talked about at all by anyone other than the 4 or 5 guys here and the guys who still have money tied up in it.
I am sure that is generated only by 4 or 5 guys here. Yes. That must be it.
Have fun
Oh you of the infamous google search links.
How about a single INDEPENDENT report. Something not from them. That will never be produced unless they actually get audited officially.
And once again aggregate counters are totally meaningless. I notice you didnt link anything to Twitch which so real time numbers because those cannot be manipulated.

20k viewers on Twitch channel broadcasting their live events.
50 play Star Citizen? LOL more like 5k/10k, If I want to play Arena Commander I just log in and join a match, in less than 1 Minute I'm in playing, I tried Elite Arena mode and couldn't get a match, Waited for almost half an hour before giving up.
Star Citizen makes more money within a Gamescom/Citizencon sale than the entire Elite franchise in it's lifetime.

Nice try, please come again.
I wish they would take the free weekend fly weeks out of those citizens. Then we could get an actual number of backers. Somehow I feel it would be really low.
Sometimes it's not always about what you can see or hear but what's under the hood of a game that's most impressive. Between those thousands and thousands of lines of code, magic happens. Sometimes the most amazing feats of gaming wizardry happen without you even noticing.

The "UEE Fleet" (= number of ships) might be more interesting for you. See SC homepage.
Also in a recent interview a speaker for one of CIG's contractors has named the current number of backers as "around 500.000".
That is a number I personally would not call "really low". That number also pretty much resembles my own estimates posted here in the past.

Of course theyre low, theyre so low they have to keep making up these things and posting numbers fromstuff that people can close and click a few hundred times.
Even their live ask the verse feeds. A person can open and close it during the live feed and it doesnt show them logging off it just adds them when they log back on, unlike twitch which IP tracks views and closes. So if you flip from feed to feed it only counts you the first time you go on (if they post it on their page and you look at the views icon).
Youtube, well we all know how those view numbers get manipulated all the time so theyre meaningless anyway.
But if this game does have all those things then why is its presence nearly nonexistant in real time or on Twitch? Or anything other than this site? Google searches notwithstanding. Google Vanguard saga of heroes and you get 660K results and that game has been closed for almost a year, so we wall know how meaningful google is in these situations.
But yes obviously SC builds its own hype with made up numbers and that has a by product of more meaningless made up numbers because people are curious.
But really this is more of the usual break down of discussions that really matter with stuff that doesnt.
Fact is they released a new version to their tech demo test bed and it didnt change the landscape or excitement for this game one iota. So now its back to the mantra of 'wait til the next patch" (which is 2.7 I believe) so the beat goes on.

How the heck can anyone make an opinion on the game when we all know people like you will comeback with exactly this. You are wrong only opinion you want is what opinion you have on the game. How the heck can you attack a fact when even Roberts keeps changing the facts. Amazing!

Anyway people's posts have started to being deleted from the thread so not a good idea to continue this.

Ah and don't forget: 1.446.000.000 registered citizens in their website.
i am the target market for SC.
Why have I not bought SC?
Because it looks bad. I'm not alone trust me.
Are you serious?
You trying to tell us, that he would be oblivious to the game of his dreams?
That he didn't even bother to play Star Marine to the extent of taking a conclusion that the game was or not near completion against the words from his own team?
Damn, the excuses people make for bad management and accountability...

How about a single INDEPENDENT report. Something not from them. That will never be produced unless they actually get audited officially.
And once again aggregate counters are totally meaningless. I notice you didnt link anything to Twitch which so real time numbers because those cannot be manipulated.

Also in a recent interview a speaker for one of CIG's contractors has named the current number of backers as "around 500.000".
That is a number I personally would not call "really low". That number also pretty much resembles my own estimates posted here in the past.
