So, starting tomorrow ANYONE can get into the open beta for the weekend??
just want to make sure im understanding this correctly.
Not worried about early access or anything like that , just the open beta.
Id like to see a return to the old EQ style of buffing toons. Being able to offer buffs to random people and not having to be grouped with them added a nice feel to the game.
One of my more fond memories of EQ is hearing MGB announced and running l…
I agree with some of this stuff,
No LF raid type crap that WOW has for sure, a LFG tool is kind of needed though as well as zone chat.
One thing you still see even today in EQ is people in zones calling out rotting loot drops or that rare mob s…
Thanks all,
I am looking hard at this game but would have realy liked to get into a beta to give it a test run, even though betas are not finished product, it still would give me a pretty good idea on weather id like this one or not.
I wasnt a rea…
You make some good points, but the one thing i will mention about is the AC stuff.
I am about sick of seeing people ask for duel AC specs or something along thoes lines, AC is not a spec, its your class.
you cant play any other game and redo yo…
I really dont expect to see TOR go the way of warhammer and aoc.
I played some of AOC when it went free, easy to see how it crashed and burned.
Warhammer i was all set to play, until before it went live they started cutting things from the game …
i7 2600k
duel gtx 560i
8gb ram
2tb hard drive
24" led moniter
max resolution during beta
fps stayed steady in the 100;s
had no issues with lag that i can remember
The side quests you play in the game are going to be the same, just like any other mmo you pick up, but you have all of thoes unique story lines that are NOT the same that add so much to your replay value. More so then any other mmo out there.
I p…

I think they kind of hide the grinding well in the lower levels at least. You have your main story quest line you will do, and it continues on once you leave your home planet, but there are also a ton of other quests you can pick up along the way. E…
i played very little of the origanal guild wars, but from what i do remember, it wasnt really a mmo.
Unless you were in a town or in a party with another person, you were pretty much on your own, is GW2 going to be the same way?
If so, i cant r…

If you would have done some research would have seen that they had just announced 15 for planned launch. On top of that they are adding 2 more with this new beta build for a total o…

. In my view not lifting the NDA fully during Blizzcon was a massive mistake because noone is talking about ToR anymore and with respect to mmorpg and the other sites the revealed stuff you talked about is …
i would probably come back for that, i played on the first progression servers they launched a while back but lost intrest mainly because of the zerg guilds opening stuff up so fast. I think alot of people left due to the same reason. I will for s…
I loved EQ, the having to run out of a zone to lose agro was part of the fun of that game... it made you think of how you were going to aproch a set of mobs, it even made you stay aware of your surroundings at all times, cause you never knew when t…
about 2 weeks or so ago i picked eq2 back up, and have been having a good time with it since.
to answer your questions (sort of) the community is helpful just like eq but there is not nearly as much of it as there was back then. Also the stuff y…
Well, i can imagine your frustration at that , but take this into account, you were running around on alts, wich means the people you were getting in your groups are either alts themselvs, or totaly new players.
Wich means, its the first time play…
There are some low level groups to be had if you are on one of the more populated server. But as far as the general lack of groups, you will find that in this game and anyother that is this old. Try getting a lower lvl dungen run in WOW now a day…

I feel exactly the same as the OP. I haven't played WoW in several months now, but WotLK seems to be beckoning me. It has opened up that hole inside that I thought I closed months ago. It doesn't help that I live in…
