  • The OP grossly under estimates the value of the IP and the brand. Bioware + Star Wars = massive buzz. I don't remember any of my friends talking about Tabula Rasa before it came out. But SWTOR has a *huge* amount of hype going for it, almost everyon…
  • Not to say it's necessarily right or wrong, but this review could have been written without even playing the game, since it's just a list of features that are common knowledge.

  • Originally posted by mikahr Oh, they are different (in one way) pardon me, LOTRO copied WoW in 2007, SWTOR did it in 2011 (on enormous budget etc. etc.) (we can call it 2012). In that repspect SWTOR is *much* worse. Turbine, the publishers of L…
  • Yes, you can do a lot with 3 people, that's the group size I'm usually involved with. The group of 3 that I play with spends the majority of our time doing Skirmishes, they are much more fun that way than solo. We ratchet up the difficulty level (Ti…

  • It's going to be adictive because it's ... popular? Bzzzzzzzt, need a better reason than that.
  • Reading a quest to kill 10 rats: same old, same old. Voice actor telling me to kill 10 rats: A REVOLUTION!
  • I've been playing since late 2007 (Vol 1 Book 10 I think ...), and I *regret* not getting a lifetime subscription. But then, I didn't think it would still be going strong after 4 years.
  • Execution is the key. Warhammer Online had some great concepts, but fell down in quality of execution. Even if SWTOR is lacking in originality, if it's well executed and polished, it could be fun to play. If the end game turns into just another hams…

  • I like the slower, more deliberate pace of combat in this game. Maybe that's why the community is so good in LOTRO, it's composed of more mature (ie. old) folks like me and my friends. The cafeinated twitch players are mostly in other games.
  • Sure, WoW is pretty stale now, but I had a good time with it for a year or two - which is more than I can say for most games. I look forward to Blizzard's next MMO.
