Having played both in beta, I will and still am playing DCUO. To me Rift isn't my cup of tee. Felt like WoW 4 years ago, while DCUO combat is new and fun.
Umm, this is how every MMO ever has been... I can't think of a MMO that was made in the east coast.
Either way everyone gets to play at the same time. You just have to understand you're 3 hours ahead of them.
