If you want to play DX10 then go nvidia, the game looks and runs awful in dx10 on ati cards.

As others said it, it is required by law. Every online service is taxable if the end user/purchser is within the EU and of course the service is offered from an EU coutnry.

i like the game actually, though I still a newcomer and maybe after a month or two i will dislike it, but so far I really enjoy it. Though casters are way overpowered imo and the game becomes pretty easy with casters, too easy.

DX10 is still in testing mode, so there are lots of glitches and bugs, but it is working more then 80% of the time.

Yes, DX10 is in, though it is still in test, so it is quite buggy and has some glitches here and there but gives a very nice atmosphere to the settings. BTW, I like the game so far.

Won't happen. I think Funcom tries to keep its current AOC user base and try to bring the PC version up to playable and enjoyable level so most of their user base won't abandom them.
